My log-splitter concept is already modeled and supplied as a single STEP assembly; now I need its critical components sized, verified, and fully integrated so the machine can move from concept to production. Hydraulics & Motion The tilting cylinder must be recalculated so that stroke, force and mounting geometry match real-world loads. I already have the data sheet for the hydraulic pump we intend to use—please drop it into the model, check clearances and make sure flow/pressure match the piston sizing. Structural Verification in Autodesk Inventor All stress checks should be performed in Inventor’s FEA environment so that results link back to the CAD. The key areas that need a full static/fatigue study are: • Pivot point for the rotating beam (shear, bearing and pin stresses) • Main frame, including weld seams and any bolted joints • All machine pins (loading in both splitting and tilting positions) • Wheel axles, bearings and their supports • Mounting plate for the hydraulic cylinders • Carriage connection bracket • Jockey wheel assembly Control & Safety Logic Add a simple PLC-based interlock so the splitter can only actuate when locked in either the fully horizontal or fully vertical position. The stop currently prevents a perfect horizontal line, so confirm the working window and suggest adjustments if needed. Deliverables 1. Updated Inventor assembly reflecting all sized parts and the chosen pump 2. Calculation dossier (hand calcs + FEA screenshots) proving safety factors 3. Brief PLC I/O map and ladder/structured-text snippet that enforces the position lock 4.
