Azure Data Engineering Setup

I need an experienced Azure Data Engineer to help me stand up a clean, scalable data environment in Microsoft Azure. Although I have a broad idea of what I want—centralised storage, automated pipelines, and reliable reporting—I have not yet committed to a specific design, so your first task will be to review my current landscape and propose an architecture that fits both today’s needs and tomorrow’s growth. Here is what I expect from the engagement: • Discover & Design – Walk through the data I currently collect and the business questions I need answered. – Recommend the right mix of Azure services (e.g. Data Lake Storage Gen2, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks, Power BI) and explain why they are a good fit. • Build & Automate – Set up storage layers (raw, curated, consumer) with proper security. – Create data ingestion and transformation pipelines that are parametrised, version-controlled, and monitored. • Validate & Document – Prove data accuracy against source systems. – Provide concise runbooks and diagrams so the environment is easy to hand over and extend. • Knowledge Transfer – Walk me through how to operate and evolve the solution once the core build is complete. I’m open to phased delivery and will agree on clear milestones together. If you have hands-on experience designing end-to-end solutions in Azure and can point to similar projects you have completed, I’d love to hear how you would approach this challenge and the timeline you foresee.
