I need to wire my existing React front-end and Node/Express back-end (with a MS SQL data store) into our OpenText xECM environment. The goal is simple for the user but intricate under the hood: when someone clicks the “Upload” button in my app, an OpenText widget must appear, let them choose a target folder, and then store the file in xECM—always respecting the permissions enforced by OTDS. Authentication and authorization OTDS sits at the center of our security model. OAuth is my preferred protocol, yet I’m happy to discuss SAML or JWT if you have a convincing argument. Whatever we choose, the user must see only the repositories and folders they are already entitled to. OpenText service layer We’ll need to call both Content Web Services and the newer REST endpoints. I’m looking for clean, well-documented code examples that I can maintain, not black-box libraries. Workflow in the UI • A button click triggers the upload flow. • The OpenText widget opens inside the React app to pick the destination folder. • Once the user confirms, the file is uploaded, metadata saved, and a success message returned to the UI. Deliverables 1. Secure OAuth (or mutually agreed alternative) flow against OTDS. 2. React component(s) that launch and manage the OpenText folder-picker widget. 3. Node/Express endpoints that bridge to both CWS and REST services for file create, metadata, and permission checks. 4. Clear setup instructions plus brief inline documentation so my team can extend the solution later. 5. A quick demo showing the entire click-to-commit sequence working end-to-end. If you’ve integrated xECM before and can move quickly on this, let’s talk.

➰➰ OPENTEXT xECM + REACT/NODE INTEGRATION DEVELOPER Hi there, I see you already have the React + Node/Express application and need a clean integration with OpenText xECM where authentication, folder selection, permissions and file storage all work securely through OTDS. ⭕ HOW I’D APPROACH IT ✔️ OTDS-based OAuth authentication and secure token handling ✔️ React integration for the OpenText folder-picker/upload widget ✔️ Node/Express service layer for xECM communication ✔️ Content Web Services + OpenText REST API integration ✔️ Permission-aware repository and folder selection ✔️ File upload with metadata creation and validation ✔️ Clear success/error handling back to the React UI ✔️ MS SQL integration where application-side metadata needs to be stored ✔️ Inline documentation and maintainable API/service abstractions ⭕ Is the OpenText folder-picker widget already enabled/configured in your xECM environment, or should I handle that setup as part of the integration? ⭕ Which xECM version and OTDS version are you currently running? This will help me confirm the supported CWS/REST endpoints and authentication flow. ⚡ I’ll focus on a transparent integration rather than a black-box connector, with reusable React components, documented Node services and a complete click-to-commit demo your team can maintain. Thank you.

Hi, I'm Denis, a developer who has worked on integrations between custom web apps and enterprise content systems like OpenText. I understand you need a React front-end and Node/Express back-end to connect with OpenText xECM using OTDS for authentication, while ensuring users only see allowed repositories and folders. The upload flow should open an OpenText widget, let the user select a destination, upload the file with metadata, and confirm success. I’ve built similar bridges between web apps and external DMS platforms, handling OAuth flows, API mediation, and permission-aware UI flows. For this project, I’d start by reviewing the OTDS OAuth flow, then implement a React component that triggers the OpenText folder-picker widget. On the back-end, I’ll create endpoints that call both CWS and REST services for file operations and permission checks, ensuring clean separation and clear documentation for your team. The main risks are unclear OTDS configuration or unexpected API limitations, so I’ll validate the endpoints early and add fallback handling if needed. I can start working right away. Let's connect and discuss the details. Thanks, Denis.

I’ve integrated OpenText xECM (via OTDS OAuth) with React/Node stacks before—most recently for a healthcare provider where we bridged legacy CWS with modern REST endpoints while enforcing OTDS permissions in real time, so this is routine. I’ll wire your React UI to the OpenText folder-picker widget via the official OTDS SDK, then expose two Node/Express endpoints: one for OAuth token exchange with OTDS (PKCE flow for SPA), another for CWS/REST file uploads with metadata mapping to your MS SQL store. The React component will handle widget instantiation, folder selection, and success/error states with minimal re-renders; backend will validate OTDS tokens, enforce repository permissions, and log sync issues to a dedicated table. All code will use axios for CWS/REST calls with axios-retry for transient failures, and include a one-time setup script for OTDS client registration. I can start immediately. Thanks, Andrii.

Hi, I have strong experience with React, Node.js/Express, REST APIs, OAuth and enterprise integrations. I can integrate your existing React/Node/MS SQL application securely with OpenText xECM and OTDS. I’ll implement the authentication flow with OAuth, while keeping SAML/JWT as alternatives if required by your environment. The React Upload flow will launch the OpenText folder-picker widget directly within the application. Users will only access repositories and folders permitted by OTDS, with authorization enforced server-side as well. I’ll build clean Node/Express endpoints for CWS and modern OpenText REST services, avoiding black-box dependencies. File creation, metadata handling, permission checks, error handling and success responses will be fully documented. I’ll preserve your existing architecture and provide reusable React components and maintainable backend services. Testing will cover authentication, permissions, folder selection, uploads, metadata and failure scenarios end-to-end. I’ll provide setup documentation, inline code comments, source code and a working demo of the complete click-to-commit workflow.

Hi, there. - Truong here. "OTDS-ENFORCED xECM UPLOAD FLOW" — users must only see folders and repositories they can access. I’d keep OAuth and permission checks server-side in Node/Express, while React only manages the widget and upload state. That keeps OTDS credentials out of the browser and lets CWS/REST calls follow the same access rules. For the folder picker, should the OpenText widget use the existing OTDS session, or must the React app establish the OAuth flow itself? Thank you

Hello, Your goal is clear: integrate a React front-end and Node/Express back-end with OpenText xECM while respecting OTDS permissions. The challenge is maintaining a secure yet seamless authentication flow while ensuring the UI feels native to your React app without relying on opaque third-party libraries. I'm Lazar, a software developer with 7+ years of experience, specializing in e-commerce platforms and custom integrations. This project bridges your existing stack and OpenText’s permission-driven ECM. The React component triggers the OTDS-authenticated widget, captures user folder selection, and hands off to your Node layer—while the Node endpoints interact with both CWS and REST services, enforcing OTDS-derived permissions. The UI should feel like a single application, not an external popup. For authentication, I treat OTDS as the single source of truth: initiate OAuth (or SAML/JWT if preferred), validate the token, then propagate that identity to all subsequent calls. The React component acts as a lightweight bridge, using OpenText’s SDK only where necessary. The Express endpoints normalize requests between CWS and REST, ensuring metadata and permissions are enforced consistently. I’ve integrated enterprise ECM systems before, often alongside payment gateways where audit trails and permission checks had to be airtight—mirroring how OTDS validates users before granting access. I can start immediately and would be glad to discuss your current setup and next steps. T

You have React/Node with MS SQL, need OpenText xECM integration with OTDS OAuth, folder-picker widget, and CWS/REST endpoints. The upload button must open the widget, respect permissions, and store files. I would implement OAuth against OTDS, build Node endpoints for CWS and REST, create React component for widget, and bridge file upload with metadata storage. My experience with enterprise document management and OAuth integrations fits. 1. Is the folder-picker the standard xECM Web UI widget (modal/iframe) or a custom version? 2. Should the file store in xECM with metadata in MS SQL, or both with cross-referencing? 3. Do you have OTDS client ID/secret and token endpoint ready? Reply with answers and I can propose a plan. Best regards, Opeyemi
