Powwownow is a provider of conference calls and collaboration based in Richmond, London. We are working on a project that will involve video and some Flash technology.
Rate depends on the candidate/experience.
Phase 1 – proof of concept (please quote on this phase only)
Within a Flash object, we want to show different parts of the same video stream at the same time. Our video source will be one video stream, but divided into a 3x3 grid showing 9 individual videos. We want to slice this multi-screen video up in the Flash object, displaying each area from the video source separately.
1. Create a Flash object that can stream a live video from another source [PWN to provide the source?].
2. Demonstrate how the video can be cropped, i.e. show only part of the video. This needs to be done within the area of the Flash object itself, not just by cropping or obscuring the HTML element that contains Flash. It should be possible to arbitrarily crop the top, right, bottom and left edges by different amounts.
3. Play multiple instances of the same video stream, cropped differently. It should be possible to place each instance arbitrarily within the Flash object’s visible area.
4. Provide a working demo showing all of the above.
Note: if you are fairly sure that any of the above is not possible, then a brief explanation would be appreciated.
Phase 2 – integrate within an existing HTML application
More details to follow after completion of phase 1, but we will be looking to take what was done into the proof of concept and potentially integrate into an existing Flash application. This is not part of the current job spec/quote, just FYI/background info.
