# Healthcare Design Review Consultant (Ongoing Project) ## Project Overview We are developing a major healthcare facility in Saudi Arabia involving the adaptive reuse of an existing building into a specialized healthcare complex including: * Rehabilitation Hospital * Long-Term Care Facility * ICU Services * Home Healthcare Operations * Medical Wellness / Medical Spa * Supporting Clinical and Administrative Services The project is currently in the design phase and is being developed by an appointed architectural and engineering consultancy using BIM methodology. ## Objective We are seeking an independent healthcare design reviewer to act as the Client’s technical advisor throughout the design process. The selected consultant will review all design deliverables submitted by the design consultant at each project stage and provide professional comments, observations, recommendations, and risk assessments before formal approval. This is not a one-time assignment. We are looking for an expert who can support us throughout the entire design development process. --- ## Scope of Services The selected consultant will be expected to review and comment on: ### Healthcare Planning * Functional planning * Space programming * Departmental relationships * Patient, staff, and service flows * Operational efficiency * Compliance with healthcare planning best practices ### Architectural Design * Layouts and floor plans * Accessibility * Patient experience * Future flexibility and expansion * Healing environment principles ### Engineering Design * Structural concepts * HVAC systems * Medical gas systems * Electrical systems * Fire protection systems * Plumbing systems ### BIM Deliverables * BIM execution strategy * Model quality * Coordination quality * Clash detection reports * LOD compliance * Constructability review ### Healthcare Compliance * Healthcare design standards * MOH requirements * CBAHI requirements * International healthcare planning guidelines (FGI or equivalent) ### Construction Readiness * Design completeness * Constructability * Coordination quality * Potential cost and schedule risks --- ## Digital Healthcare & Innovation Expertise The ideal consultant should also have experience with: * Smart Hospital concepts * Digital Healthcare Infrastructure * Telemedicine requirements * Smart Patient Rooms * RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems) * Nurse Call Systems * Hospital Command Centers * BMS Integration * Healthcare Technology Planning Experience in Artificial Intelligence applications within healthcare facilities is highly desirable, including: * AI-assisted hospital operations * Predictive maintenance * Smart facility management * AI-enabled patient monitoring * Digital transformation strategies * Healthcare data analytics --- ## Deliverables For each design submission, the consultant shall provide: * Written review report * Design observations * Technical comments * Risk assessment * Recommendations for improvement * Compliance concerns * Value engineering opportunities * Innovation and technology recommendations Comments should be clearly categorized by priority: * Critical * Major * Minor * Enhancement Opportunity --- ## Required Qualifications Applicants should demonstrate: * Proven experience in healthcare facility planning and design * Experience with rehabilitation hospitals, long-term care facilities, or acute healthcare projects * Strong BIM knowledge * Understanding of healthcare engineering systems * Experience reviewing consultant design deliverables * Familiarity with Saudi healthcare regulations is preferred * Experience in smart hospitals and healthcare technology planning is highly preferred --- ## Engagement Model This will be an ongoing engagement throughout the design phase.
