iOS and Android operating systems
Both iOS and Android are operating systems and they are rivals to each other since 2008. First iPhone was released in 2007 and until 2011-2012 it was dominating on the market. It was the first compact touch screen mobile phone which had great software and visual characteristics. On the other hand, the first Android mobile phone was launched in 2008 however Android couldn’t even be compared with the iPhone until 2011-2012. There are a couple of pros and cons for both operating systems. First of all Android is a company which was bought by Google, so they had a huge budget spent on their development. In 2012 Android released many phones whose performances were similar to the ones that the newest iPhone had. The main difference between these two, from the customers’ view, is the price. They had almost the same hardware specifications, but the Android was way cheaper. That’s the main reason why Android flooded the market with their new mobile phones and had great success in selling them throughout the world. They were affordable to an average human. Android has plenty of free applications and on the other side lots of iPhone’s applications cost money. That’s how Android’s development rate has grown dramatically in just a few years. Today their hardware became even better than the iPhone’s. Better hardware doesn’t necessarily mean that the phone works faster.
