Need Xemacs modified to allow hash tables to be mapped to disk files in shared virtual memory and locking performed on updates.
Canidate must have examples of similar prior work and demonstrate ability to use the Xemacs modules feature to interface with Linux C modules.
POSIX conformance requested.
Also, would like mapped disk files to be sparse. Canidates must be able to discuss specific strategy how this can be accomplished in the light of the existing code.
As an option, Canidate can also bid on creating a new type of mapped hash table that only takes keys and omits the complexity and space of the data portion. The only thing I am interested in is if the key exists in the hash table (plus insertion and deletion of course).
The key items will only be binary integers (inodes) if this helps.
