My company needs a windows-based small and efficient CRM software.
We do NOT want it to be web or browser based.
ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENTS :
1. All forms and database records must be in unicode so multiple languages (mainly Greek) will be supported for the data entry
2. An import from excel mechanism must be developed for batch record creation
3. The main entity of the CRM is the contact. Relationships of various types between contacts must be supported. (Look for contact relationships feature at [url removed, login to view] for example)
4. Products must also be able to be defined and sales to contacts (customers) too.
We visualise this CRM to be something like the ACT!2007 CRM (you can see it in action easily online at [url removed, login to view] ).
The major feature that is missing from ACT! is No.3 that is the ability to create and define relatioships between contacts. In detail what ACT does has is one flat db table with no relational possibilities. We don't want that.
Our CRM can be much more simple than ACT! Email and Internet services are not needed as well as an inline word processor. The whole "Write" tab can be left off. Also the opportunity feature is NOT needed! Also since each contact entry must be unique the "check for duplicates" feature is not needed too.
However search capabilities, user access level (see opencrx too) db synchronization, extensive reports, sales history, calendar and task list ARE needed.
The working scenario for the use of this CRM is the following: Sales people with laptops will have the software installed and a portion of the central db. Every week, after their sales, they will all get connected to a central machine and update the db there with their sales and data. Reports will be generated on the central system.
ACT! software installs SQL server 2005 for its db back-end. This is not a prerequisite. Our system can be more lightweight and simple than that. The db back-end can be implemented in any way you think appropriate. The number of records for the db are calculated to approximately 100,000+.
