Develop some basic serial communications functions to test an outboard device using Borland C++ Builder 6.
The first phase involves a 4800 baud 8 bit even parity polled network environment.
The goal is to test the device(s) that will be used in this network.
There are 128 devices max, with 16 i/o lines on each.
A simple screen on 16 button/lights plus address contol dialog would produce 2 byte commands and interpret 2 byte responses.
After successful demonstration of this, phase 2 would add data aquisition to the system, using [url removed, login to view] hardware and c++ software development module etc.
The goal would be to measure outputs of the i/o lines and reduce data first to average and peak values for a time window, and then to reduce further to pass fail results for test operator use.
This project, generally would be done somewhat itteratively, passing sources back ad forth etc.
