C++ programming languages Fractured” Fairy Tale adventure game Choose one of these: 1. Goldilocks and the Three Bears 2. Little Red Riding Hood 3. Wizard of Oz 4. Alice in Wonderland 5. You can also use a Fairy Tale from your own country of origin, as long as there is one main character that goes on an adventure. Alter the story to match the criteria. This is where the “fractured” part comes in. You can flip the script and make “good guys” into “bad guys” or change the names. Creatures in the woods could be “armed and dangerous” . An object or character could be given magical powers. Try to keep some essence of the story. Have fun with it! This is a chance to really show your creativity. The challenges can be different levels to progress through or they could be like things on a map (like in The main character (player) should go on a journey. You can give them multiple lives if you want. They should visit at least 5 places or meet 5 characters or a combination. Each should represent a challenge or obstacle where they need to make a decision, or a decision is randomly assigned for them. (try to mix it up). They will need to have a particular item or items to enter each challenge. If they win the challenge they can win an item. You could make this random or award the item that they need for the next challenge. Zork) If they lose, send them back a level, or send them to the beginning, or to another challenge. Do not have them keep repeating the same level over and over until they win that level. However, you could allow them to come back there later. In addition to sending them somewhere else you could: deduct a life (if you gave them multiple lives) take one of their items end the game (they die or run out of energy etc) 2. . To win the game they will have to defeat the “boss” . The boss location challenge could be one of your 5. The more items they have collected the better their chances of defeating the boss. You could require the player to have all the items or they would need a particular item(s). If the boss defeats the player, the game ends. You will also need to include these Code elements 1. At the top of your file include a comment block. Write the name of your game, as well as the name of the story is based on : Example: This game is called “Defeat the Wizard” loosely based on the “Wizard of Oz”. Print out to your user the setting and object of the game and some instructions on what they are to type 3. Get the player’s name (use getline() ) You don’t have to use it as the character name You could say something like, “Hi Bob, you are now known as the Sorcerer” 4. 5. 6. 7. Allow for upper and lower case inputs Anticipate errors by using try-catch Create a class or classes to represent a place or a character and create instances to use the game Use at least one function of any type. (your function can be a method inside a class if you would like) 8. Use at least one loop, it must have a criteria (Do not use while(true) ) 9. Use a switch. 10. Use an array, vector or struct to hold the items that the player collects. 11. Have some random element to your game that could affect the outcome. Optional things to try: Make a points system Make a leaderboard that you read from at the beginning of the game and write to at the end. Put some possible dialog in a file and read a random line from it and print to your user. Add extra complications for your player.
