I need a self-contained software component that lets my existing AI/CCTV platform (let’s call it Software A) talk directly to cameras, DVRs and NVRs over ONVIF. Whenever Software A flags an abnormal situation—specifically motion detection or intrusion detection—it must be able to generate an alarm/event and push the corresponding command to the exact device we choose. Typical device-side reactions will include firing the alarm relay, starting a recording, or showing the alert on the NVR’s interface, depending on the model’s ONVIF capabilities. Core expectations • A clean, well-documented API or micro-service I can drop into our codebase and call from C#/Python (or expose as REST if you prefer). • Reliable ONVIF command delivery with clear success/failure responses. • Support for cameras as well as multi-channel NVR/DVR units; selection by IP and logical channel. • Straightforward configuration file or UI panel for mapping Software A alarm types to the desired device actions. • Unit tests or a small demo app proving the module works against at least one real or simulated ONVIF device. Acceptance criteria 1. When I trigger a motion or intrusion event in the demo, the chosen camera/NVR immediately reacts in the configured way. 2. Response codes and logs are written so my platform can store a full audit trail. 3. Source is handed over in a repo with build/run instructions that work on Windows or Linux. Please include links or repos showing past work on ONVIF, CCTV integrations, or similar real-time device control. That portfolio evidence will help me shortlist quickly. I’m ready to get started as soon as I see proof you’ve solved a comparable problem before.

Hi, I'm Denis, a full-stack developer specializing in device integration and real-time control systems. I understand your need—a clean, self-contained ONVIF module that triggers device actions when your AI/CCTV platform detects motion or intrusion events. The main challenge is reliable command delivery across different device types with varying ONVIF support. You need something that handles partial implementations gracefully, provides clear feedback, and maintains a complete audit trail. I'd start by mapping your device landscape and which commands each model supports reliably. Then I'd build a wrapper service that abstracts ONVIF complexity, exposing a simple REST API or C# client library your platform can call directly. Configuration would be straightforward—JSON or a basic UI to map alarm types to device actions. The implementation includes a discovery mechanism to locate devices, a command queue with retry logic for reliability, and structured logging capturing every action attempt with timestamps and responses. I'd also provide unit tests against simulated ONVIF devices and a demo showing motion detection triggering a relay or recording. One realistic consideration: not all NVR/DVR models implement ONVIF uniformly. Some support relay triggers, others don't. The module gracefully handles unsupported commands and logs them clearly so you know exactly what succeeded and failed on each device. I'm ready to start immediately. Let's discuss the details. Thanks, Denis.

I understand your need for a reliable ONVIF integration component to trigger device actions based on AI-generated alarms. I can build a Python-based microservice using FastAPI, providing a clean REST endpoint for your Software A. The solution will include ONVIF device discovery, command execution (relay/recording/alert), and configuration mapping for alarm types to device-specific actions. I'll implement robust error handling and logging for audit trails, with unit tests and a demo app validating functionality against real/simulated devices. The component will support direct IP and logical channel selection for cameras and NVRs. I'll ensure it's containerized for easy deployment on Windows or Linux. I'm confident this approach meets your requirements for immediate device reaction and comprehensive response tracking. Let's discuss the technical details and timeline further.

I’ll build this as a self-contained ONVIF integration module with a clean REST API and thin C#/.NET client, plus Python bindings if needed. The core design will map your Software A alarm types to device actions through a configuration file that defines device IP, logical channel, and preferred reaction—relay, recording, or NVR alarm display—based on that device’s actual ONVIF capabilities. I’ll handle the capability negotiation internally so the module automatically selects the correct ONVIF profile and service

I would implement this as a testable C#/.NET ONVIF adapter or microservice with a REST boundary if useful: device configuration, camera versus multi-channel NVR selection, event-to-action mapping, relay/recording/interface commands, timeouts and retries, structured success/failure responses, and audit logs. I would include Windows/Linux build instructions, unit tests plus a simulated-device demo, and integration documentation for the C#/Python caller. Which camera/NVR brands and ONVIF profiles are in scope, and should calls be synchronous or queued? I can start with a reproducible test matrix at $19/hour, up to 40 hours/week.

Your ONVIF integration will fail under load if you don't implement proper connection pooling and timeout handling—most NVRs drop connections after 30 seconds of inactivity, causing alarm commands to silently fail during critical events. Quick questions - are you handling multi-vendor ONVIF profile differences (Hikvision vs Dahua have different event schemas)? And what's your expected alarm throughput per second across all devices? Here is the architectural approach: - ONVIF PROFILE S/G: Build a connection manager that maintains persistent SOAP sessions per device with automatic reconnection and WS-Discovery for dynamic device registration across subnets. - C#/PYTHON INTEROP: Expose a gRPC service layer so your AI platform can trigger alarms via strongly-typed contracts with sub-50ms latency and built-in retry logic for network failures. - MULTI-CHANNEL NVR ROUTING: Implement a device capability cache that queries ONVIF GetCapabilities on startup to map logical channels to physical relay outputs and recording triggers per manufacturer. I've built similar real-time command systems for 2 surveillance platforms processing 500+ alarm events per minute without dropped commands. Let's schedule a 20-minute technical call to review your device inventory and finalize the integration contract.

Hi, This project fits well with my background in video analytics, backend architecture, APIs, real-time systems, and production integrations. I’m a Software Architect with 17+ years of experience building Python/C#-friendly services, CCTV/video-processing solutions, AI microservices, event-driven systems, Docker deployments, and device-facing integrations. For this module, I can build a clean ONVIF service that handles: • Camera, DVR, and NVR discovery/configuration • Device selection by IP and logical channel • Motion/intrusion events coming from Software A • Alarm relay, recording, and supported device-side actions • Clear success/failure responses with retries and timeout handling • REST API plus easy integration from Python or C# • Configurable mapping between AI events and ONVIF actions • Structured logs for full audit trails • Windows/Linux deployment • Unit tests plus a simulator/real-device demo I would keep vendor-specific behavior isolated behind adapters so new camera/NVR brands can be added without changing your core integration. My experience includes real-time video analytics and AI/CCTV pipelines, so I understand the importance of low latency, reliable event delivery, and deterministic logging. I can take ownership from ONVIF capability discovery through implementation, testing, documentation, and handover. Handling ONVIF Eventing and DeviceIO interfaces requires strict adherence to WS-BaseNotification and Profile S/T specifications, particularly when addressing channel-indexed inputs and relay tokens across multi-port NVRs. ✅ Build a self-contained microservice (C# .NET 8 or Python FastAPI) exposing clean REST endpoints for Software A to trigger motion and intrusion events. ✅ Implement ONVIF DeviceIO (SetRelayOutputState) and Event Broker clients with logical channel mapping, retry handling, and structured audit trail logging. ✅ Package with configuration mapping rules, complete API docs, and a containerized ONVIF test harness to validate device reactions without live network disruption. ✅ 10+ years production experience | 400+ completed projects | 320+ five-star reviews ✅ Microsoft® Certified: MCSA | MCSE | MCT & cPanel Certified (CWSA-2) Are your target NVRs strictly using standard ONVIF Relay Output and Action triggers, or do any models require custom Profile T topic tree injections for recording initiation? My rate is 20 USD/hour and I can start immediately.

Hello, As a result of reviewing your requirements, I understand you need a standalone ONVIF integration layer between Software A and cameras/NVR/DVR devices, with motion or intrusion events mapped to device-specific actions and complete response logging. I have experience with Python/C#, REST APIs, microservices, real-time integrations, device communication, and modular backend architecture. The key challenge is that ONVIF capabilities vary between manufacturers and even between channels of the same NVR. I would therefore build the module around device capability discovery rather than assuming every device supports the same alarm, relay, recording, or event operations. Software A would send the device IP/channel, event type and requested action through a clean API. The service would handle ONVIF authentication, capability validation, command execution, timeout/retry handling, structured success/error responses, and audit logs. Alarm mappings would remain configurable without modifying the core code. I would also provide unit tests plus a real/simulated ONVIF demo, repository, and Windows/Linux setup documentation. Two quick questions: • Which camera/NVR brands and models must be supported first? • Can you provide access to one test device or ONVIF simulator environment? I’m available to start with the device/API architecture immediately. Best regards, Carlos
