The project is a unique, RPG-lite, 2D card game title in active development with Unity. Core UI and gameplay concept are mostly developed (art direction and art assets); what remains is translating mechanics into clean, maintainable C# code that runs on both PC and mobile devices. Key tasks involve: • Building title screen & (3) detailed UI screens (with 2D gameplay elements) that adapt automatically between desktop resolutions and common mobile aspect ratios. • Implementing touch, mouse, and keyboard input so controls feel native on every platform. • Setting up basic scene management, audio triggers (lightweight Unity particle effects will be developed by artist) • Setting up version control • Utilizing online design document notes/timeline in Notion • Producing PC/Steam Deck, and Nintendo Switch 2 builds and documenting any platform-specific settings. What I'm looking for: Smart, creative type with solid coding skills. Unity 2022 or newer is preferred, along with Visual Studio/Rider, and some familiarity with Unity Addressables will be a plus. Note-taking and communication is key. Flexible schedule.

Hi, I can step into the existing Unity project and focus on translating the established mechanics, UI designs and art direction into clean, maintainable C# rather than changing the game concept. I’d build the title screen and three gameplay/UI screens using responsive Unity UI layouts that adapt properly across desktop, Steam Deck and common mobile aspect ratios. Input would be abstracted so touch, mouse and keyboard share the same gameplay logic while retaining platform-appropriate behaviour. I can also handle scene/state management, audio triggers, integration points for the artist’s particle effects, Addressables where useful, Git/version-control setup and clear implementation notes alongside your Notion workflow. I’ll keep gameplay systems separated from presentation so future card mechanics and content can expand without turning the project into tightly coupled scene code. For Nintendo Switch 2, I can prepare the architecture with console constraints in mind; final platform builds depend on the project having the required Nintendo developer/SDK access.

The UI scaling and input handling you described are key to a smooth player experience across PC, mobile, and Switch. I have worked on a card game project before where adapting UI layouts to various screen sizes was crucial, and implemented input layers that switch between touch, mouse, and gamepads seamlessly. For efficient scene and audio management, I suggest using Unity’s built-in event systems and referencing lightweight audio triggers to avoid overhead. Setting up version control early will save headaches—do you prefer Git or Unity’s built-in solution? Also, will the Notion notes include any API or data schemas to integrate? I can deliver clean, organized C# code that ensures maintainability as you expand gameplay mechanics. I keep consistent documentation, which will pair well with your Notion workflow. I’m ready to dive into your project and get the builds running on PC, Steam Deck, and Nintendo Switch quickly.

Hello! Your RPG-lite card game sounds like a great fit for my background — I've shipped Unity 2D titles that had to feel equally at home on desktop and mobile, and translating a solid art direction and design doc into clean, maintainable C# is exactly the kind of work I enjoy. For the UI, I'd build the title screen and the three gameplay screens on a Canvas Scaler setup driven by safe-area and aspect-ratio-aware layout components, so everything reflows correctly from 16:9 desktop to 19.5:9 phones and Steam Deck without duplicated prefabs. Input would go through Unity's Input System with an action-map abstraction, letting touch, mouse, and gamepad/keyboard each map to the same gameplay intents — critical for a Switch 2 build where controller navigation has to feel first-class. I'd also set up an addressable-friendly scene loader with async transitions, a lightweight audio manager for one-shot and looping triggers, and Git (LFS enabled for art) with a clear branching and commit convention. Card data and effects would live in ScriptableObjects so you can tune balance without touching code, and I'd keep Notion updated with build notes and platform-specific settings as I go. I'm comfortable working from written design docs and asking questions early rather than guessing. Do you already have a Switch 2 devkit and Nintendo developer approval in place? And are the card mechanics fully specced in Notion, or should I expect some iteration as we prototype? Best regards!

For this RPG-lite card game, I’d focus first on turning the existing mechanics and art direction into a clean Unity architecture where UI, input, scene flow, and gameplay logic stay separated enough to scale without becoming difficult to maintain. I’d structure the title screen and three detailed gameplay/UI screens with responsive Canvas layouts, reusable prefabs, ScriptableObjects where appropriate, and input abstraction for touch, mouse, keyboard, and controller support. My two priorities would be clean implementation and maintainability, so the same gameplay code can serve PC, mobile, Steam Deck, and future platform-specific builds with minimal branching. I can also set up scene management, audio triggers, Addressables where useful, Git-based version control, build configurations, and a disciplined workflow around your Notion design notes/timeline. For mobile, I’d validate aspect ratios, safe areas, touch targets, and performance from the start rather than treating them as post-build fixes. A relevant example is FileChannels, where we worked across web/mobile experiences with real-time interaction, notifications, role-based flows, and production-ready cross-platform behavior. I should be transparent that I would not claim prior Nintendo Switch 2 certification/shipping experience without evidence, but I can prepare the Unity project, build settings, and platform abstraction cleanly for that target.

I’ve built multiple Unity 2D card games with cross-platform input and responsive UI for PC/mobile, so this is straightforward. I’ll implement the title screen and three UI screens using Unity’s Canvas Scaler for resolution adaptation, then wire touch/mouse/keyboard input via Input System package with platform-specific mappings. Scene management will use additive loading with Addressables for asset streaming, audio triggers via FMOD/Wwise or Unity’s AudioSource, and version control via Git in Perforce for Switch 2 compliance. Builds will target PC/Steam Deck via Unity Cloud or local IL2CPP, and Switch 2 via Unity’s NDK toolchain with documented platform quirks. Build scripts will log settings for reproducibility. I can start immediately. Thanks, Andrii.

Hi there! Quick question – are you planning to implement any backend services for things like player progression saving or leaderboards, or is this purely a single-player offline experience for now? Regardless, this is definitely something that I feel confident delivering on, given my past experience. I would love to discuss your project further! Looking forward hearing from you. kind regards, Corné

Hello, I understand you have a unique, RPG-lite 2D card game in active development in Unity—the core UI and gameplay concept, art direction, and art assets are mostly done, and what remains is translating the mechanics into clean, maintainable C# that runs on both PC and mobile. The key tasks: building the title screen and three detailed UI screens (with 2D gameplay elements) that adapt automatically between desktop resolutions and common mobile aspect ratios; implementing touch, mouse, and keyboard input so controls feel native on every platform; setting up basic scene management and audio triggers (with the artist handling particle effects); setting up version control; working from your Notion design docs/timeline; and producing PC/Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2 builds with documented platform-specific settings. I do exactly this kind of Unity gameplay-and-UI implementation. The core craft here is clean, maintainable C# and a UI that genuinely adapts across desktop resolutions and mobile aspect ratios—plus input that feels native whether touch, mouse, or keyboard. I'd build it with maintainable architecture (so it stays clean as the game grows) and communicate clearly via your Notion notes. Happy to review your design docs and get started. A couple of questions below.

You already have the art direction and core gameplay concept, so the priority is turning those mechanics into clean, scalable Unity code without disrupting the existing design. I can handle responsive UI, multi input support, scene and audio systems, version control, Addressables where useful, and structured builds for PC and handheld targets. Portfolio: https://www.freelancer.com/u/Humaumair12 I can start immediately and would first audit the current project before building the remaining systems. Do you already have the card rules and combat flow fully documented in Notion?
