Mechanical Engineering Services for a small hand held device

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to assist in the design and development of a compact consumer device with mechanical components. The device aims to automate a specific manual process, prioritizing user safety, functionality, and ease of use. Project Overview The project involves designing a device that includes: A compact and efficient mechanical system capable of repetitive motion. Integration of moving parts, such as gears and small motors. Safety mechanisms to prevent accidental user injury. Optimization for manufacturability and durability. The device will ultimately be designed for small-scale production, and initial work will focus on prototyping and validating the concept. Scope of Work The selected Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for: Concept Development: Reviewing initial product concepts and refining the mechanical design. Suggesting suitable materials for durability and cost-effectiveness. Design & Prototyping: Creating detailed mechanical designs, including CAD models and technical drawings. Collaborating with the project team to align the design with user needs. Testing & Iteration: Assisting in the prototyping phase to ensure the design functions as intended. Making iterative adjustments based on test feedback. Production Readiness: Advising on manufacturing methods and assembly processes. The primary function of the device is to automate a specific manual task. The device is designed primarily for indoor use. The expected timeline for the project is short-term, ranging from 1-3 months.
