The job is to craft a freestanding kitchen cupboard that replaces an existing 1950s unit which was water damaged. The overall size, door profile, and shelf position must match the original so the new piece looks like the old one. The doors and door handles can be reused. Construction requirements • Build exclusively from solid wood; no plywood or MDF substitutes. • Use sturdy joinery (e.g., mortise-and-tenon or dovetails) suitable for daily kitchen wear. Finish requirements • The cupboard must be painted in oil paint, with an exact colour match to the surrounding cabinetry. Scope of work 1. On-site visit to confirm all measurements and take the colour sample. 2. Workshop fabrication 3. Painting. This should be a separate line on your quote. 4. Delivery. Acceptance criteria • Dimensions and styling replicate the original cupboard within a 10 mm tolerance. • Paint colour is visually indistinguishable in natural and artificial light. • Doors open and close smoothly with no rubbing or misalignment. Quote to include painting as a separate item. Additional information: There are three other large kitchen cupboards that will need replacing in the same 1950s style in 2027.
