I need an experienced enterprise architect to help me translate the TOGAF framework into a practical, working model for my IT department. The goal is to produce an end-to-end Enterprise Architecture proposal that sharpens, standardises and ultimately streamlines every IT Service Management process we run today. While the spotlight is on ITSM, I do want the engagement to look horizontally across the department so we can raise the maturity level of Incident, Change and Configuration Management at the same pace. In short, every core process should emerge better defined, measured and governed. Here is what I expect to walk away with: • A current-state assessment mapped in TOGAF ADM terms (Baseline Architecture, capability heat-map, pain-points). • A target-state service architecture articulated with ArchiMate or a comparable notation, showing how people, process, data and technology line up. • A clear gap analysis and prioritised roadmap that spells out quick wins, mid-term initiatives and any long-range structural shifts. • Governance guidance—roles, artefacts and cadence—for keeping the architecture alive once we adopt it, ideally dovetailing with ITIL practices and tools such as ServiceNow or a CMDB. I can collaborate closely, share existing documentation, and organise workshops with stakeholders as needed. If this sounds like the sort of architecture challenge you thrive on, let’s talk through your approach and previous TOGAF-driven successes.

I am applying for the Infrastructure Engineer position, bringing hands-on experience in delivering end-to-end infrastructure projects from planning and design to implementation and post-delivery support. I follow an enterprise-oriented approach aligned with TOGAF principles to ensure infrastructure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. My work considers the organization’s size, operating model, and technical requirements, while identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities through proper security controls. I manage infrastructure initiatives as complete projects, including defining the project charter, handling change requests with risk assessment, and maintaining accurate asset and dependency visibility using CMDB practices. My goal is to translate architectural designs into reliable, real-world implementations that ensure operational stability and continuity.

Hi, Thank you for sharing the details—this is exactly the type of challenge I enjoy tackling. A few quick questions to make sure I fully understand your context: 1. Do you already have a TOGAF-based architecture or artifacts, or are we starting from scratch? 2. Which ITSM processes are currently most mature, and where do you see the biggest pain points? 3. Are you aiming for ArchiMate purely for visualization, or do you want it to drive actionable tooling integrations (e.g., ServiceNow)? 4. For governance, do you prefer a lightweight, pragmatic approach or a full TOGAF-compliant framework? On a side note, I had recently visited Oman and stayed 40 days for business—great experience! Looking forward to understanding more so we can map a practical, end-to-end architecture for your IT department. Best, Gayatri
