WhatsApp Smart Reminder Bot (MVP)

Project Overview: We are building an MVP of a Smart Reminder Assistant that works entirely through WhatsApp chat. The bot will allow users to register, subscribe to a plan, set reminders via a conversational flow, list upcoming reminders, receive notifications at the right time, and delete reminders. The system will include a backend service for logic, scheduling, and data management, plus an admin web portal for management and monitoring. MVP Scope 1. End User — WhatsApp Chat Interface • Registration & Authentication: o User initiates chat with the official WhatsApp number. o Bot requests and verifies mobile number with OTP. o Create a profile and store language preference (EN/AR). • Subscription Management: o Command to show current plan, usage, and limits. o Payment/upgrade flow via secure payment link (Stripe or local payment gateway). • Set Reminders (Chatbot Flow): o AI/NLP-based parsing for action, date, time. o Ask only for missing fields, handle relative time formats (“tomorrow 3 pm”). o Send a confirmation message with quick reply buttons (Confirm / Cancel). • Get / Show Reminders: o User command (“my reminders” / “today’s reminders”). o Bot returns a formatted list with quick actions for each reminder. • Reminder Notifications: o WhatsApp messages at scheduled time. o Quick reply options: Done, Snooze 10m/30m/1h. • Delete Reminder: o By natural command or quick reply button. o Bot confirms deletion. 2. Backend Services • User management, authentication, and subscription tracking. • Reminder creation, editing, deletion, and scheduling. • NLP module for EN/AR intent and entity extraction. • Notifications handling (WhatsApp API via Twilio/Meta Cloud API). • Payment gateway integration for subscriptions. • Multi-language support (EN/AR). • Logging, error handling, and audit trails. 3. Admin Web Portal • User Management: Search, view, deactivate users. • Reminders Management: View, search, delete reminders. • Subscription Management: Assign plans, monitor usage. • System Configurations: API keys (Twilio, OpenAI), payment settings. • Reports: Usage stats, reminders count, top users. Tech Stack (Preferred) • Backend: Node.js or Python (FastAPI / Django REST). • Database: PostgreSQL or MongoDB. • Admin Portal: React.js or Vue.js. • WhatsApp API: Twilio API for WhatsApp or Meta WhatsApp Cloud API. • NLP: OpenAI GPT-4 or similar for conversation handling. • Hosting: Hostinger. Deliverables 1. Fully functional WhatsApp-based MVP as per scope. 2. Secure backend with REST APIs. 3. Responsive admin web portal. 4. Deployment on our hosting. 5. Source code + basic documentation.
