The application will initially read magazines in PDF format which are approximately 100MB and 90-100 pages.
The application requires a "Magazine rack" that will show purchased magazines front covers stored on the device on one page and available magazines front covers for purchase on another. Tapping a purchased magazine will take the user into the magazine. Tapping on available magazine will allow the user to purchase through the StoreKit. It is intended to categories each purchase as a non-consumable.
The functionally in the application will include:
index - thumbnails of each of the pages (similar to BBC iPad app but can be shown or hidden through an icon on the top left of the screen)
index - hyperlinks from the magazine index page
search - text search through the magazine (search box can be toggled on or off through an icon on the top right of the screen)
zoom in/out through pinch and spread
page flick left and right to turn pages (similar to iBook app)
The server side will also be required to be built. We will need to store user data on purchases to allow application to be loaded on multiple devices and restore purchases on devices and well as the magazines.
We will require a interface that will allow us to upload new magazines, check customer data and produce basic reports (sales, number of downloads, number of devices, number of restores, geographic location)
We will provide provisioning for the application.
The code should should be fully documented and must conform to Apple's guidelines.
On completion of the project and final payment we will fully own the source code and copyright to the application.
On choosing the successful developer we would expect the project to be completed in 5-7 days.
Do not bid for this work if you do not already know how to build the server side of the application or intend to outsource any part of the application development.
