A fully transient ANSYS Fluent study is required for a moderate-complexity tilt-rotor aircraft during its hover-to-cruise transition. I will supply the cleaned CAD and the reference flight condition envelope; you will handle everything from preprocessing to final post-processing on your own high-performance hardware so the entire job is wrapped up inside one week. The investigation must capture aerodynamic forces, flow separation and vortex formation throughout the manoeuvre, paying special attention to the influence of the hovering rotors on the airframe. A mesh-independence check and an appropriate turbulence model choice for unsteady behaviour are expected. Deliverables • Fluent project files (mesh, case and data for all time steps) • A concise report (setup rationale, solver settings, residual histories) • Time-resolved plots of lift, drag, pitching moment and thrust • Visualisations: vorticity iso-surfaces, surface pressure maps and flow-separation animations • Summary of hover-induced effects with engineering conclusions Acceptance criteria • Residuals and monitor points converge consistently at each time step • Mesh independence demonstrated with ≤ 5 % deviation in force coefficients • Report and visuals clearly reveal the three requested phenomena across the transition window Keep communication open for quick clarifications; progress snapshots every two days will help keep the schedule tight. Transient CFD setup Transition angle cases Time-dependent pressure contours Time-dependent velocity contours Streamlines/pathlines Vorticity/wake development Lift vs time graph Drag vs time graph Thrust vs time graphTorque vs time graph Pitching moment vs time graph Hover CFD setup Downwash analysis Ground effect analysis Thrust/power/torque calculation Hovering performance graphs Final comparison: static vs transient vs hover

Hi there, I have extensive experience in transient CFD simulations using ANSYS Fluent, including rotating machinery, moving reference frames, sliding mesh, overset mesh, and unsteady aerodynamic analyses. I can independently handle preprocessing, mesh independence, transient setup, solver selection, and detailed post-processing to capture rotor-airframe interactions during the hover-to-cruise transition. Freelancer +1 Approach: • Import and verify the supplied CAD model. • Generate a high-quality mesh with boundary layer refinement and perform mesh independence. • Set up transient Fluent simulations using an appropriate turbulence model and moving mesh strategy. • Evaluate lift, drag, thrust, pitching moment, vortex structures, flow separation, and rotor wake interaction. • Deliver complete Fluent files, animations, engineering report, and progress updates every two days. Before starting, I have two important questions: Will the rotor blades be modeled using a full sliding/overset mesh, or can an actuator disk/actuator line approach be used? Approximately how many rotor revolutions and transition duration should be simulated, and do you have HPC/core count requirements? Timeline: 7 days Budget: Flexible Best regards, Arati M.

Hi, I’m a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in ANSYS Fluent, transient CFD, aerospace flow analysis, rotor-induced flow studies, and validation-driven simulation work. I have performed CFD studies involving unsteady aerodynamics, vortex development, flow separation, pressure distribution, and performance evaluation where accurate post-processing and engineering interpretation were as important as the simulation itself. For your tilt-rotor aircraft, I can handle the complete workflow from geometry preparation, mesh generation, mesh-independence verification, turbulence model selection, transient setup, hover analysis, and post-processing through to engineering conclusions. My CFD background allows me to focus on obtaining physically meaningful results, including rotor-airframe interaction effects, wake evolution, downwash characteristics, thrust generation, and aerodynamic performance throughout the hover-to-cruise transition. I have completed similar CFD projects involving complex flow physics, transient simulations, and detailed engineering reporting. Please review my profile for related ANSYS Fluent and CFD analysis projects. Thanks.

I understand you're looking for a comprehensive transient CFD analysis of a tiltrotor aircraft's transition phase, similar to the detailed rotor-airframe interaction studies I've previously conducted for advanced rotorcraft concepts. My experience with complex unsteady aerodynamics and multi-rotor systems will ensure accurate capture of the critical phenomena you've highlighted. My approach will involve setting up a robust ANSYS Fluent transient solver with appropriate turbulence models (likely a LES or hybrid RANS-LES) and a sliding mesh interface for the rotors. I'll employ adaptive time-stepping to efficiently resolve transient flow features while maintaining numerical stability. Preprocessing will include detailed mesh generation with boundary layer refinement and a mesh-independence study, followed by simulation runs on my dedicated HPC cluster. Post-processing will focus on extracting key metrics like forces, moments, flow separation contours, and vortex structures, presented clearly to illustrate the transition dynamics. To ensure we're fully aligned, could you clarify the specific transition maneuver phases you'd like to prioritize within the one-week timeframe? Also, are there any particular control surface deflections or rotor pitch schedules you'd like to investigate during the transition? I'm confident I can deliver a high-quality analysis within your deadline and would be happy to discuss the project further at your convenience.
