I would start by laying out the post grid in AutoCAD based on the 24-foot span, likely setting posts at 6-foot centers for optimal load distribution and material efficiency. For the 30-foot length, I’d use solid 4x6 posts driven 6 feet into the ground, or for better frost protection, set on concrete piers with metal post bases to avoid direct ground contact. The roof framing would use solid lumber rafters, sized for the expected snow load and span, connecting to a treated lumber ridge board, and also to the top plates of the wall girts. I’d use galvanized steel strapping and fasteners throughout for all connections, this is what I would build it with. For the girts, I would specify 2x6 lumber, spaced to match the siding panel width, also using metal connectors. The foundation detail for the posts is the critical point, so I'd pick piers over direct burial in most soil types to avoid rot. I would build the foundation and post layout first. This establishes the base for all subsequent framing and ensures the entire structure is plumb and square before adding the weight of the roof. What is the soil type at the site for foundation depth recommendations? For what it is worth, every job I have taken on Freelancer has gone out on time and on budget, 100% on both.
