I need research only (not article writing) done about marijuana legalization for an article that I'm writing. Specifically, I want to know what would happen if marijuana were legalized in the USA.
This is not objective research. It should spin the data to support marijuana legalization. This should be comprehensive and well-researched. This article is for a blog, so obviously I'm not looking for academic journal quality research, but it can't be so flimsy that people don't take it seriously.
I'm looking for at least 10 items that would occur if marijuana were legalized in the USA.
## Deliverables
Examples of things I would like to know:
* How much money would state and federal governments make if marijuana were legal and it were taxed?
* What would that do for government budgets?
* How much money would state/federal governments save not going after marijuana users, prosecuting them and imprisoning them? And what would the secondary effect of that be?
* Would there be more room in packed prisons for violent offenders?
* Are prisons so packed right now with marijuana offenders that there isn't room for violent offenders?
* Would drug gangs disappear? Lose profit? Etc...and anything else interesting you can find.
Above all, I want pro marijuana legalization readers to see these items and say "wow, I didn't realize that legalizing marijuana would have that positive effect! This makes the case for marijuana legalization even stronger! If anti marijuana legalization supporters knew about this, they would change their minds!"
