I need help stabilising a custom Gravity PDF certificate template for a commercial catering gas inspection record. The template is a two-page A4 landscape-style PDF generated from a Gravity Forms entry using PHP, HTML tables, CSS, and mPDF/Gravity PDF. The certificate layout is already designed and mostly working visually, but the layout becomes unstable when real form data is inserted. The goal is **not to redesign the certificate**. The goal is to preserve the current visual layout and make it robust when fields are populated. Main issues to fix: 1. **Part A layout stability** * Part A has a fixed three-column layout: * left column: business/site/landlord/declaration boxes * middle column: gas, pipework, safety boxes * right column: ventilation/extract box * bottom: risk analysis box * When populated with values like “Yes”, “No”, “N/A”, numbers, short text, and longer notes, the layout should not shrink, stretch, overflow, or create extra pages. 2. **Prevent form values from breaking table widths** * Some fields can contain longer values, for example: * remedial action text * filtration type * serial numbers * make/model * risk outcome * These should be safely truncated, wrapped, or otherwise controlled so they cannot push the PDF tables wider. 3. **Keep the original design proportions** * The certificate should continue to fill the page as per the original working blank layout. * Please avoid broad/global CSS changes that alter all `.q`, `.a`, `.inner`, `.content-a`, or `.parta-grid` behaviour unless absolutely necessary. * Any fixes should be section-specific and tested against populated data. 4. **Part B stability** * Part B is mostly stable and should not be redesigned. * It includes an appliance table, additional works table, comments box, risk box, and declaration/signature box. * Only small refinements should be made if needed. 5. **Logo/header support later** * I also want to add a PRISM logo on the left and Gas Safe logo on the right of the header, but this should not change the header height or push the certificate layout down. * Header logos should be added only after the main data/layout stability issue is fixed. Technical requirements: * This is for Gravity PDF / mPDF. * The solution should preserve the existing PHP template structure as much as possible. * Please test with both blank/mostly empty entries and populated entries. * Please avoid CSS that causes mPDF to re-scale or paginate unexpectedly. * Ideally, long-value protection should be handled either with safe PHP helpers or very targeted CSS, not broad table overrides. Deliverable: * A corrected PHP template file or ZIP that can replace the existing Gravity PDF template. * Brief notes explaining what was changed and why. * Please identify any fields that need maximum character limits or special handling. nd have relevant experience. I’ve added the IP Agreement upgrade. All work, code, templates, styling, fixes, and derivative versions produced for this project must be assigned to me/my business and must not be resold, reused, redistributed, or published elsewhere.

Hello, I can fix your Gravity PDF template without changing the existing design. I will: Stabilise the Part A 3-column layout so it doesn’t break with real data Prevent long text (serial numbers, notes, remedial actions, etc.) from stretching tables Keep Part A and Part B structure exactly as it is Use only targeted CSS/PHP fixes to avoid affecting mPDF rendering Test with empty and fully populated entries to ensure consistent output I will not redesign the certificate, only make it stable and reliable with real form data. Deliverables: Updated PHP Gravity PDF template (or ZIP replacement) Short notes on what was fixed List of fields that may need character limits Once this is stable, we can add the logos without affecting layout. Warm regards, Harpreet Singh

Hello, I understand your Gravity PDF template is visually correct but breaks when real form data is inserted, especially in Part A where dynamic fields overflow and distort the fixed 3-column layout. I will stabilize the PDF by enforcing fixed table widths, mPDF-safe CSS, and strict overflow control without changing your existing design structure. Long text fields like remedial actions, serial numbers, and risk notes will be protected using targeted CSS and optional PHP length handling to prevent layout shifts. Part B and overall styling will remain untouched unless minor stability fixes are required. I have 10+ years of experience in Gravity PDF, mPDF, and complex WordPress PDF template debugging and optimization. thank you Regards Gaurav Garg

Hi there, I see you're looking to stabilize a custom Gravity PDF certificate template for a gas inspection project. It sounds like you're facing challenges with the layout or functionality of the PDF templates. I can help streamline the process by diving into the CSS and HTML to ensure the output meets your specifications. Utilizing PHP within the Gravity Forms plugin can further enhance the template's reliability and ensure all data is accurately represented. I'd start by reviewing the current template setup, then troubleshoot any issues with rendering and data integration. Q1: Can you specify which elements are causing the most issues in the PDF output? Q2: Are there any specific design guidelines or branding elements that need to be incorporated? Q3: What is the timeline you have in mind for this stabilization project? Let’s get this sorted out efficiently.

Hi, This is a good fit for targeted PHP, HTML table, CSS, and mPDF troubleshooting. I would keep the current certificate design and template structure intact, then stabilise the sections that break when real Gravity Forms data is inserted. The focus would be controlled field output, fixed table behaviour, safe wrapping/truncation for long values, and section-specific CSS rather than global overrides. For Part A, I would protect the three-column layout and bottom risk analysis area so populated values do not shrink, stretch, overflow, or trigger unexpected pagination. For Part B, I would only make small refinements if testing shows any instability. I would also add safe helper handling for long text fields like remedial actions, filtration type, serial numbers, make/model, and risk outcome, then note any fields that should have max character limits. Once the main layout is stable, the header logos can be added with fixed dimensions so they do not change the header height or push content down. I have worked on WordPress/PHP templates, PDF generation, form-driven layouts, and production document workflows where preserving exact visual output was critical.
