I have a VPS through Linode running Ubuntu [url removed, login to view] server. The main purpose of the server is to provide an internet proxy for when I am in China. It ran OpenVPN to my computers and my router for 18 months. Recently, the great firewall has implemented DPI and blocked packets from my server. I have tried to research obfsproxy or other ways to get around the DPI. However, I cannot find good information and the sites which may have information are blocked... I would like help setting up a system that works with through DPI. Is this something you have experience with?
- Set up obfsproxy on my VPS to run through OpenVPN
- Complete all Firewall settings to route all internet traffic through both
- Write the client configuration files that can be used on an OpenVPN GUI for Windows or my TomatoUSB router (Linksys E4200)
Once that is set up, I would like to explore ways to make our internet connection faster, such as setting up a home server to run Squid as a cache proxy. But that is for another day.
