Good afternoon yourproofreader
I'd like to give you a go at editing a draft 'strategic framework' that will form part of a planning scheme, a statutory document that regulates development. Our office hasn't drafted this latest revision and we believe that it requires a fair bit of reworking. I'd like you to:
- improve readability (e.g. replace the passive voice with active wherever possible)
- convert some of the text into 'outcome statements'
- general proofreading (e.g. correct grammar, punctuation, spelling etc)
If this works for the both of us, there may be further work available, both on the remainder of this document and generally proofreading our work. (I haven't got time at the moment and think it would be efficient for an expert in any case!!)
I will upload an extract (part 3 of the document) in MS Word. I'd appreciate it if you could track your changes. Please don't bother with or change styles...it's the words I'm interested in.
I will also send a scanned copy of a slightly earlier version that should help indicate my thinking. It shows the results of only a brief review.
I'm not expecting a technical knowledge of the subject, although of course some understanding would be helpful. Feel free to ask if you are not sure.
