WENDY BELLISSIMO DESIGN STUDIO APP
This app will help users to be able to make design element selections within the context of a photographic room environment in order to see how their design choices appear together in a room.
DESIGN SELECTION FUNCTIONALITY
The main visual display area will always have a background image that shows “blank” or plain white elements in the places where choices can be made. So if this is a baby’s crib and there are bed linens to be designed then all of the bed linens would be white.
There is also a categories area of the app. This will display category options such as “blankets” “bed skirts” “wall art” “lamps” “furniture” etc. (This area needs to be able to be controlled by the admin of the app so that they can add or remove categories at any time. )
Users will make selections utilizing thumbnail images that appear in the Thumbnail display area. The thumbnails will appear as options according to whichever décor category has been selected from the categories selection area of the app. The thumbnail images correspond with a specific pattern design or décor item image which is clipped (possibly with an alpha channel) and pre-set in a fixed position over a background photograph.
So, if the user clicks “Blankets” for example then thumbnails would appear that show different options for blanket designs. If the user then clicks a blue striped thumbnail for example then the blanket visible in the main visual display area would change to a blue striped blanket. If there are more thumbnails than the available space allowed in the UI then they should be able to be swiped and moved from left to right in order to display more options.
Selection data would need to be tracked with every selection the user makes. So in the above example, it would be noted that the user has currently selected a blue-striped blanket. This data would appear in the Data Selection area however this area would be hidden by default and the user would have the ability to view it, either as a slide out window/tray or as a pop-up window at any time by clicking an icon that would indicate their ability to view their selections. The data shown to the user would be the name of the item, the RETAIL PRICE and the ‘availability’ of the item…(in-store, online-only, etc).
There are different types of data that correlate with each possible selection option.
The PRODUCT DATA would be:
Retail Price (this would also need to be accessible by another admin account)
There are also images associated with each item. (These would be created and clipped and made “app ready” by the Wendy Bellissimo company based upon specific preset design specifications (x-y coordinates, clipping masks shape and placement, etc)
The images would be:
One Unique Thumbnail
There would also need to be the below images equal in number to the number of Design Environments offered. (**See Design Environments Expandability below)
Overlay image (this is the image that populates the Main Visual Display area)
Enlarged overlay image (this is a larger version of the image and may not be necessary if there are other technical methods that would allow the user the ability to zoom in on what they are designing)
The user will have the ability to save any combination/selections they have made. When they do this a snapshot would be taken of the current state of the main visual display area along with the data that goes along with the selections that have been made. There would need to be a flat image made of the main visual display area that can be used for online sharing purposes. It would also be used to allow the user to go back and see different design combinations they have saved. Each time they save, a sequenced version number would be assigned but the user would have the ability to give the design combination their
