I need a single Excel workbook that lets me drop in a weekly CSV export of crew hours and instantly see three things: • Accurate hourly-wage and overtime totals for every employee • A running tally of material costs linked to each shift or job code • A clean payroll sheet I can hand straight to accounting The tool must include standard payroll tax calculations, including basic salary, overtime, deductions, employee and employer contributions, TDS/payroll tax, and net salary calculations. All formulas should be editable for customization. The tool should also be flexible to accommodate different employees and pay periods. The CSV import will be the only way timesheet data enters the file, so the tool must include a simple “Select file” VBA macro or Power Query routine that maps the incoming columns to the correct fields automatically. Once the data is in, I should be able to review and, if needed, override hours or rates directly on screen while a separate tab keeps an untouched copy of the raw import for audit purposes. Key calculations: regular vs. overtime hours at variable pay rates, fringe percentages when applicable, and itemised material charges that roll up by employee, job and week. All totals must update in real time without manual refresh and feed a printable payroll summary sheet formatted to US letter. I’m comfortable editing formulas but not code, so please annotate any VBA and add brief inline comments where logic might need future tweaks. Deliver the unlocked workbook together with a short PDF explaining: 1) how to update the pay-rate table, 2) how the overtime thresholds are applied, and 3) how to adjust the material-cost list. The project is done when I can import a sample CSV, review the results, and print the payroll sheet with correct numbers in under five minutes.

Before touching the OT formulas there is a call to make on the CSV import: map columns by a fixed template so the macro only accepts headers in the exact order you define, or match by header name so it tolerates a foreman renaming or reordering columns week to week. Fixed is bulletproof against a column silently landing in the wrong pay field, name matching is friendlier if the crew's export tool shifts things on its own. I'd lean fixed, with a hard stop and a clear error if a header doesn't match, since an import that halts and asks you to fix the CSV beats one that quietly feeds a wrong number into OT. The raw import lands on its own locked tab and stays untouched after ingest. Every downstream number, regular and OT pay at your variable rates, the fringe percentage, material rollups by employee, job and week, comes off a calc layer that references that tab rather than duplicating it, so nothing you edit on the summary screen can drift from what was actually imported. The print layout and the PDF walkthrough for rates, OT thresholds and the material list sit on top of that same layer. The 55000 INR is a starting number off the brief, it'll firm up once I see a sample CSV and your actual OT thresholds. M1: CSV import, column mapping, locked audit tab, 18150 INR, 2 days. M2: pay and material calc engine, 18500 INR, 2 days. M3: print summary and edit guide PDF, 18350 INR, 1 day. M1 on its own confirms the import and mapping against your real data before the pay math gets built on top of it.

Hi, I can build the workbook with an untouched CSV import tab, a mapped calculation layer, explicit override fields and employee/job/week summaries for wages and material costs. Rates, overtime thresholds, fringe contributions and deductions will live in editable rule tables, with checks that payroll totals reconcile. I can add a documented file-selection/import flow and a US-letter print report, plus the requested PDF guide. Tax/TDS and contribution calculations need your jurisdiction, period and accountant-approved rules; I will not assume a universal payroll formula. Please share a sample CSV, expected employee count and Excel platform/version so I can choose a compatible import method.

I can build a reusable Excel payroll and job-costing workbook where your weekly CSV becomes the single source of timesheet data, while payroll, overtime, materials, and job-level totals update automatically. I’ll keep the workflow simple enough to complete in minutes while maintaining a separate raw-import layer for auditability. Thank you for considering my proposal. I have gone through the requirements in detail. I have strong experience in Excel automation, VBA, Power Query, payroll calculations, financial modelling, data validation, and reporting. I can create a simple file-import routine that maps CSV columns automatically, calculate regular/overtime hours at variable rates and applicable fringe percentages, and link material costs by employee, job, shift, and week. I’ll also provide an editable review/override area and a US-letter payroll summary ready for printing. Any VBA will be clearly commented, and I’ll include the requested PDF instructions. I have uploaded samples similar to this project completed by me earlier in my profile. With 10+ years of experience and as a Chartered Accountant (ICAI) and CPA, I bring strong financial and Excel automation expertise. I can build and test the workbook using your sample CSV and ensure the complete import-to-payroll workflow is straightforward. Please share the sample CSV and any existing pay-rate/overtime rules so I can get started.

Keeping a separate untouched raw-import tab alongside an editable review sheet means every formula on the payroll tab needs to reference the override copy, not the CSV pull, or audit traceability breaks the moment someone edits a rate. Are fringe/material costs keyed to a job code column already present in the CSV, or do I need to build a separate lookup table for that mapping? I've built spreadsheet-driven tracking tools with dropdown-populated fields tied to lookup tables for field data, which maps closely onto the column-mapping macro you're describing.

Hello, I understand the CSV export is the only way timesheet data enters this workbook, and that the numbers then have to stay reviewable on screen with the raw import left untouched. I'd build the import as a Power Query routine behind a Select file button, matching incoming headers against a small mapping table you can edit when your export changes a column name or order. The raw rows land on their own sheet, exactly as imported. The review layer needs care. If your overrides sit on the sheet the query writes to, the next import wipes them, so I'd hold them in a separate table keyed by employee, date and job code. An edited rate or hour count then survives the next refresh and stays visible as an override. Then a pay-rate table per employee, overtime thresholds as editable values rather than hard-coded in formulas so daily and weekly rules can both apply, fringe as a percentage column that can be left blank, and material charges tagged by job code so they roll up by employee, job and week. These stay in live formulas, so only the import refreshes and the rest recalculates as you type. The payroll sheet would be print-ready, US Letter, fit to width, header rows repeating. The workbook stays unlocked and the VBA commented. I'd be glad to run your sample CSV through the import step and show you the parsed hours and overtime split on your own data first.

The core problem: turning a raw weekly CSV crew-hours export into accurate regular/overtime pay and job-linked material costs with zero manual re-entry, ready to print for accounting. Delivery: one unlocked workbook with a Power Query import routine mapping CSV columns to fields, a locked raw-data tab for audit, an editable review tab with override cells, live formulas for regular/overtime/fringe by rate table, material roll-up by employee/job/week, and a US-letter payroll print sheet. v1 within 3 working days for your review, revisions folded in before final handover with the PDF guide. First decisions: build the pay-rate and overtime-threshold logic as named ranges in a separate config sheet so you can edit them without touching formulas, and use Power Query rather than VBA where possible since it needs no macro security settings and refreshes automatically on file open. I will not promise the workbook to auto-detect a CSV layout that changes structure between exports; column headers need to stay consistent or the mapping step needs a quick update. Can you share one sample CSV export so the column mapping is built against your real headers rather than assumptions. Price: 12500 INR fixed · Timeline: 5 working days from access/brief Konrad

Hi, I can build this as a single unlocked Excel payroll workbook with a controlled CSV import workflow and a clear separation between raw source data and editable payroll calculations. My approach would include: • One-click CSV import using Power Query/VBA with automatic column mapping • Untouched Raw Import sheet for audit history • Editable review layer for hours and pay-rate overrides • Regular/overtime calculations with configurable thresholds and variable rates • Fringe percentage calculations where applicable • Material costs allocated by employee, job code and week • Printable US Letter payroll summary for accounting • Commented VBA and an accompanying PDF explaining rate, overtime and material-cost maintenance I would also include validation checks so imported totals can be reconciled before payroll is printed. Before building the final workbook, I would confirm your CSV column structure, overtime rules and material-cost format to make sure the calculations match your payroll process exactly. I can deliver the completed and tested workbook within 7 days.

Hi, You need a single workbook where your weekly crew-hours CSV goes in and a payroll sheet ready for accounting comes out, with overtime, fringe and material costs worked out automatically, all within your five-minute goal. My approach: - A "Select file" import button (Power Query plus a short VBA macro) that maps the CSV columns automatically and keeps the raw data untouched in an audit tab - Rate, overtime-threshold and fringe tables you can edit without touching any formulas - Regular vs. overtime hours at variable pay rates, and material costs rolled up by employee, job and week - Clearly marked override cells for hours and rates, with totals that update instantly - A payroll summary that prints on US Letter, fully commented VBA, and a short PDF guide covering the three points you listed I've built registers, reporting and automation in Excel, Power Query and Power Automate for an international solar construction company, and I have a BCom Finance background with experience as a financial data analyst, so payroll logic is familiar ground. I can deliver a first working version in 3 days and the final version with the guide on day 4. Could you share a sample CSV and your overtime rule (for example, over 40 hours a week, or daily as well)? Regards, Heino

Hi, this is close to payroll and cost-tracking work I've done for years in Finance/FP&A - regular vs. overtime calculations, fringe percentages, and cost roll-ups by employee and job code are exactly the kind of logic I build and audit regularly. I'd structure it so the raw CSV import lands untouched on its own audit tab, with a working tab that maps incoming columns to the correct fields, calculates hours/rates (with manual override where needed), and rolls everything into a printable payroll summary. I want to flag one thing honestly: for the "Select file" import step, I'd default to a clean Power Query refresh rather than a VBA macro unless you specifically need VBA - Power Query is more transparent for someone comfortable with formulas but not code, which is what you described. Let me know if VBA is a hard requirement and I'll adjust. I'll annotate any formula logic clearly so future tweaks to pay rates or overtime thresholds are easy for you to make yourself.

I can build one unlocked Excel workbook with a CSV file picker, mapped import, an untouched raw-data tab, and editable review fields. The calculation tabs will use your pay-rate table and supplied overtime and fringe rules, then roll labor and material costs up by employee, job, and week. I will format the payroll summary for US letter, annotate the import logic, and include a short PDF covering rates, thresholds, and material costs. I will test the full import-to-print flow with a sample CSV and reconcile the totals against manual checks before hand-off. The overtime rules and sample data should come from you so the calculations match your payroll policy.

I can build an unlocked Excel workbook that imports your weekly CSV, preserves the original rows for audit, lets you review approved overrides, and produces a printable payroll summary by employee, job and week. I would use Power Query for a repeatable import and transparent tables/formulas for pay rates, overtime, fringe percentages and material costs; the final choice depends on your Excel version and sample file. My background includes payroll and reward reporting, data controls and Excel/Power Query automation. Before coding, I would confirm your overtime thresholds, rate tables, fringe rules, rounding and treatment of corrections with you rather than assume US payroll rules. I will reconcile worked examples to your expected payroll results, document every calculation, and deliver the workbook plus a brief PDF guide. Please share a sample CSV, expected calculation examples and the exact pay rules so the result can be validated before use.

Payroll mistakes are a pain to fix once accounting has the sheet, so that raw import tab needs to stay untouched. You’ll get one workbook you can edit, where the weekly CSV feeds wages, overtime, fringe, materials, job/week totals, and a US letter payroll printout you can review in under five minutes. I’ll keep the comments plain for future tweaks and include the short PDF for rates, overtime, and materials. INR 12,500, done in 3 days.

I can build the Excel workbook so the weekly CSV import is the only input step, with automatic column mapping, a preserved raw-data audit tab, editable hours/rates, regular and overtime calculations, material costs by employee/job/week, and a printable payroll summary. I have already reproduced the core CSV-to-payroll calculation flow in a controlled internal test, including overtime and material-cost totals. I would keep the workbook unlocked and include the short guide for pay rates, overtime thresholds, and material-cost updates as requested. I can complete and test the full workbook within 4 days.
