I have decided to re post this project with more details and explanations of what will need to be done.
My site is a classifieds website that has 'custom/additional fields' setup in the admin section.
I recently paid someone to review all of the fields and see if they were setup correctly. Any errors that were found were placed in an excel file.
Please see the .zip file attached to this project and look at image '1. Excel Sample'. Here you will see a small sample of what the list looks like and the information provided. As you can see the list provides the category/subcategory and the error or problem that needs to be fixed.
If you need to fix a custom field itself, then you can find the 'custom field' in the list of all fields. Please see image '2. List of Custom Fields' for an example of the list. As you can see the fields are listed in A-Z order which makes it very easy to find the field.
Once you have found the correct field to be edited you can click on 'edit' which will take you to the edit page as shown in image '3. Edit Custom Field Page. Here you will edit the 'Initial Values' as needed to make the field correct.
If a field is missing or you need to find out which 'custom fields' are in which categories or which categories use a custom field, then you can search one of two ways:
Image 4: 'Category - Associate Custom Fields'
- You can search the categories and select one. This will show you all of the custom fields that the category is using.
Image 5: 'Custom Fields - Associate Category'
- This way you can look up a custom field and see all of the categories on the site that are using the field.
This provides two simple ways of seeing how the categories/subcategories & custom fields work together.
So, you will need to use the excel file as shown in image 1 and then edit the field (initial values) as needed. Or you might have to use the category-custom fields (customfields-category) to make sure everything is appearing where it should.
