Parashnath Polypack Pvt Ltd, Kolkata is engaged in the manufacture of 210 litre plastic drums which are used for packaging of liquids and semi liquids. The industries concerned include food industry, paint industry, solvents, acids, road construction etc.
The raw material used is imported from the Middle East. Every month, we receive trade data (import data only) about the different raw material being imported by our competitors all over the country. The data includes a number of details such as Indian company, address, contact details, product info, foreign company, price, qty, customs duty, Indian port of call etc.
Please refer to the attached file to understand the kind of data which we will be playing with.
The work involved:
1. Clean the data received according to a set format. Every month the data comes in a particular format only.
2. Create a dashboard to pick up the clean data and to be able to perform analytics.
3. Display key KPIs which will be decided upon confirmation of work.
4. Create historical trends, moving averages, monthly charts etc.
5. To create a background to be able to use the data for further predictive analytics.
I need a one click dashboard which can pull data from an excel sheet, clean my data, perform analytics, and then display on the dashboard.
The medium/tool to be used is open for discussion. The various factors involved would be complexity of work, ease of modifications once the project is passed onto me, flexibility in using data, amount of data to be analysed etc.
The various options include Python, R, Qlikview, Tableau etc.
