Web developer with experience with the Golang programming language needed to develop a parsing script capable of fetching and processing data from a public API ([login to view URL]). The developer's job will be to use the existing scaffolding provided by the fetcher template that can be accessed at the public repository [login to view URL] and expand its functionalities in order to: - return information about the data provider (see the Provider method in the template); - return a list of URLs pointing to individual resources listed by the API (see URLs method in the template); - parse individual resources and extract the necessary data (see Fetch method in the template). The developer is expected to test her/his code and a minimum of 80% of test coverage is required for this job to be considered as completed. The successful applicant is also expected to follow instructions defined in the technical guide that will be provided and carefully read the notes included in the template source code.

Hi, I am an American Golang dev living in Vienna. I would love to quickly write you some well tested Go code to connect with the Safecast API. I recently organized a hackathon where we were hacking open data and it was super fun. I really enjoy collecting and parsing datasets and I think Golang is a great tool to use to handle it. I also talk about Go at Golang Vienna, which I organize and in a talk I have been giving at some Ruby conferences this year. This is really simple. I can go implement the code for you based on the fetcher repo that you want or build it from scratch. Regarding the collected data, I can store your data in any number of formats on file or make the program store it in a database of your choice (SQL or NoSQL). I will also deliver the test coverage reports as generated from from the test coverage tool of golang.
