I'd like a very simple eBay lister designed for me. Basically, it will have a very simple user interface. I'll input the basic fields, have the fields that are usually the same, be populated automatically (base on what I set them up as in the Options/Settings) and then put the data into the eBay FileExchange output file. It'll let me add as many items as I wish, one by one, and when I'm done, click "Preview" (let me see the output file, to ensure there are no errors) and then "Upload to eBay" will upload the file to eBay using API to have the items go live on eBay.
Just a simple user interface, will show me the following input boxes:
Image Location: (drag and drop will be supported, so I can easily drag the image from a website for quicker insertion)
Condition: (this will be a check box, with the following options: New / Used - Very Good / Used - Like new / Used - Good) (in this order)
As I type the title of the item I wish to list in the title box, it will show a small character counter, so I know when I hit the 55 character (or soon to be 80 character) limit eBas has for the item title field.
Description is where I will write a small item description. This will be combined with "Description Addon" below, in the preset columns:
These fields/columns will not show in the main used panel, but just in the "Options/Settings", as they usually will be the same from item to item, so setting them up once will be good, and then unless I change them, the data in the output file, will be populated according to these settings.
Description Addon (whatever text I put in here, will be "added" to whatever text I enter in the "Description" field in the main user panel. This combined text, will then be what will be populated into the "Description" field in the output csv file.
...and all the remaining columns in the attached sample output file.
Notice that the output file uses "smart-headers". So if the value I enter, in the Settings, for the column "Shipping Service-1:Priority" is "1" the the column header will simply be changed to Shipping Service-1:Priority=1 and there will be no need to put a "1" in all the rows beneath it (that's how smart-headers work). ;)
This really is a simple database application.
It comes down to a simple interface, that allows me the user, to enter values, which will then be assigned to the output csv file. Then, that file will be sent to eBay via their API, and... that's it.
Of course, my log in settings will be saved in the Options/Settings as well, so evreything will be as automated/quick as possible.
I want this to be a small little app- nothing big- just a simple little program, that can run on my computer in a little window on the side, and when I occasionally want to list something, I can do so with just a few clicks. That's the idea. Short, sweet, and simple. The less clicks and more automation, the better.
