Making 26 letter pages feel short, warm, and easy for children to follow is really the key here, because overlong copy or uneven spreads can make a lovely book feel heavy on the page. I’d first tighten each rhyme/story so it keeps its rhythm, then build a clean left-to-right layout where text and artwork stay balanced and consistent from A to Z. I’ve worked on child-friendly print pieces and layout-focused design jobs where the challenge was not just “making it fit,” but keeping the tone intact while preparing proper source files and press-ready output. With layered PSD artwork already available, the production side can be handled cleanly while preserving quality for donation printing. I can also provide a very clear change log so the charity can review edits quickly. - Do you already have a final trim size in mind, or should I propose one based on the artwork dimensions? - Would you like the text edits to stay very close to the current wording, or am I free to do slightly deeper tightening where a page still feels crowded?

@ranjika08

Some children’s alphabet books lose their charm when the text is squeezed in or the spread structure changes from page to page, so your brief is really about protecting flow as much as polishing wording. I’d trim each A-to-Z entry with a light editorial hand, then format every spread so the artwork and copy sit neatly side by side in a way that feels predictable and easy for young readers. My experience is strongest in cleanup-and-finish projects like this, where the raw ingredients are already there and the value comes from smart editing, careful composition, and dependable print preparation. The layered PSD files are especially helpful, because they allow proper placement and spacing instead of forcing compromises at layout stage. I’d also make the source package organized so future updates are easy. - Do you want one letter per page exactly, or one full spread per letter with art on one side and text on the other? - Are there any letters you already know feel too long or tonally off, so I can watch those first?
