I need a hardware and software design (hardware components list and wiring + code) of simple but fast analog linear encoder speed monitoring system. Analog encoder is being moved at specific and short move with deviating speed, there for I need to get speed measurement in 1 millisecond increments.
Analog encoder's technical spec is attached. Model used is with 100 mm stroke.
Moving speed up to 5 m/s.
I need microcontroller based system which when triggered with DI signal would monitor encoder position and count the average moving speed of 1 ms increments for 2-3 seconds. System could/should be connected to computer for convenient visualization of the results.
Encoder position should be shown in meter or millimeter and speed in mm/s or relative units. It could have calibration function in order to get real length/speed parameters.
