Dual microphone background noise reduction module for Windows We need a dual microphone background noise reduction module to enhance speech signal for Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64 bit) for language laboratory. This module need to reduce general lab noise (fan noise and computer noise) + neighbor students speech. Each student wear a special headset with 2 microphones #2a & #2b on both ear pieces to record the general lab noise noise (fan noise, computer noise) + neighbor students speech and 1 microphone #1 to record the student's own speech. Microphone #1 will be connected to a usb sound card (cmedia 6206 chipset). Microphone #2a & #2b will be connected to an A/D input port on the computer. The dual microphone background noise reduction module will use microphone #2a & #2b 's input as reference to filter similar noise inside the microphone #1's input so the system can record a clear and clean speech recording for teacher assessment. Since we already have our own sound card driver so we just need a module to compare and filter the general lab noise (fan noise and computer noise) + neighbor students speech. Note: general lab noise (fan noise and computer noise) in general not much but neighbor students speech quite much because students are sitting close.

I would model the waveforms as linear combinations of 3 to 6 independent noise processes and output the one most strongly coupled to the selected microphone.

Hi I am an Electronic Engineer, pursuing MS degree with specialization in "Signal Processing and Digital System Design" and have quite an expertise in Speech Processing on various platforms. My previously developed relevant projects include "Review of recent techniques in Adaptive echo cancellation ", "Voice Verification based on MFCC Analysis", "Speech Recognition: Comparison of Spectral vs Formant Peak Analysis" and "Sentiment Analysis in Speech". Kindly check your private message box for a presentation on AEC, which is almost same as this project. My proposed algorithm is to model the signal as a linear combination, and adaptively track the strongest component.
