The project is to build an in cab controller generating a PWM signal to control a hydraulic valve. Once the first unit is proven, a quantity will be required, with potential for ongoing production.
External proximity sensor switches will send a signal to the controller to tell it to either increase, or decrease the PWM duty cycle. The PWM frequency and the rate at which the duty cycle will change should be adjustable, preferably with an internal adjustment such as a screw potentiometer. The maximum and minimum duty cycle should also be adjustable. Raw unregulated power supply will be 12-14V (vehicle battery). The in-cab display will show the operator the present duty cycle, plus allow the operator to manually override the controller to set the duty cycle manually if required. It should also indicate (eg via LEDs) when the + and - rate adjustments are happening.
In summary, the Inputs will be: 12-14V DC unregulated power; Common/earth; Switch signal for "Increase"; Switch signal for "decrease". Outputs will be: Power and Common for "Increase" switch; Power and Common for "Decrease" switch; PWM output to control valve.
Ideally the display should be customised for this application, including branding. It may require a customised plastic housing.
