Hi there, As per my approach I'll use a small, energy-efficient microcontroller like an ATtiny to handle the counting and display logic. Later on I can pair it with a simple 2-inch segment LCD or dot-matrix display that is easy to drive and consumes minimal power. Afterwards I will design the circuit to include a coin cell battery (like a CR2032) with efficient power management to ensure long battery life. Kindly clear the type of 2-inch LCD display you prefer (segment or dot-matrix) and confirm if the display needs backlighting.
