Hi - would like to discuss your availability for a project I have been contemplating.
The project is to build a breakout box/board which will sit between the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and wiring harness of my car. I want to measure the signals passing to and from the ECU (to a multimeter, OScope, microcontroller) while the car is running, without interfering with the operation of the vehicle.
As preparation I have two of the three ECU plugs with wires needed from a wrecked car, and the plug-only for the third (it will need 40 have 40 female connectors crimped and loaded into the plug). I also have the socket from a dead ECU for the same vehicle, with 110 pins, for these plugs. Each of the pins should feed to two PCB screw terminal connectors - one to go out to the plug, and the other to go out to the measuring device.
I would like you to design and build the PCB, and if your eyes are up to it, to solder the socket, PCB connectors, and crimp the pins for the remaining plug.
Let me know if you are interested in this project. I have photos and diagrams if you want to proceed further. I have no idea of price or effort, so I'll be guided by your advice on how long this could take. This project is part of a larger project I have in mind (which will involve your electronic design skills), but measurement of signals is the most important part, for now.
