Are you an email marketing extraordinaire in search of full- or part-time work? Modular is a boutique email and marketing agency who works with many top startups and brands, and is looking for an experienced Senior Email Marketing Manager to work across a range of exciting projects and clients in both B2B and DTC/ecommerce. You will work closely with founders and stakeholders of companies at different growth stages and with different marketing automation needs. Your job will be to help identify the opportunity around email and serve as a strategic lead, create implementation plans, and drive quick results. We are looking for a high performer who is professionally mature and able to self manage. We are open to candidates who have experience solely in either B2B or DTC/ecommerce. This is a contract role.
Past experience in email marketing
Knowledge of one or more of the following tools: Segment, Hubspot, [login to view URL] and/or Klaviyo
Excellent internal team and client communication and project management skills
Strategize, build, and execute effective email marketing campaigns. This includes setup, development, QA, client feedback, and deployment.
Analyze email performance, build reporting and optimization systems, and identify insights to drive optimizations and testing (offer, creative, segmentation, automation).
Create timelines and manage multiple projects efficiently and with clear communication to ensure all deadlines are met.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of multiple clients’ data warehouses and backend data flows as they pertain to email. Leverage this knowledge to enhance programs with behavioral triggers, personalization, and improved user experience.
Collaborate with client partners to build and maintain a universal calendar of all campaigns.
Conduct A/B and segmentation tests that enhance marketing effectiveness and allow clients to identify best marketing practices within each customer segment.
Ensure content is consistent with the defined brand voice, style, and tone.
Manage list hygiene, creation, maintenance, and segmentation.
Write compelling and effective marketing copy and create design templates for email campaigns.
Experience & Skills
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in email marketing, with specific experience overseeing and optimizing email.
Fluent HTML/CSS knowledge to create email templates and/or code snippets within WYSIWYG emails.
Extensive ESP knowledge, including specific experience in Klaviyo and/or Customer.io. Experience with HubSpot, MailChimp, and Iterable preferred.
Experience with SMS and push notification marketing.
Strong project management and organizational skills. Clear and proactive communicator. Extremely detail oriented.
Excellent understanding of email execution: build, deliverability, metrics, and industry benchmarks.
Analytical and data-driven balanced by a keen creative sensibility.
Growth mindset; focus on continuous improvement.
Fully versed in global email compliance (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR).
Has or can develop a strong working knowledge of analytic tools such as Google Analytics, Google BigQuery, and similar tools.
Previous agency or consulting experience a plus.
