We are looking for an experienced automotive embedded systems / ECU developer who has hands-on experience with Weichai engine ECUs, particularly those used in off-highway equipment such as wheel loaders. The objective of this project is to develop a lab-use simulator/emulator for the AdBlue (SCR) system, enabling the ECU to operate normally in a bench / laboratory environment without the physical AdBlue hardware installed. This simulator will be used strictly for R&D, diagnostics, training, and system integration testing purpose. Scope of Work The selected developer will be responsible for one (or more) of the following approaches: Option 1: ECU-Level Simulation Knowledge Deep understanding of Weichai ECU architecture Knowledge of SCR / AdBlue subsystem interactions Ability to identify: Required sensor signals CAN messages Diagnostic handshakes Fault-avoidance logic Assist in defining ECU-expected behaviors for lab operation Option 2: External Emulator Module Development Design and develop an external hardware module that connects to the ECU harness Emulator should: Simulate AdBlue/SCR components (NOx sensors, dosing unit, tank level, temperature, pump feedback, etc.) Communicate over CAN (J1939 / proprietary Weichai protocol if applicable) Allow the ECU to remain in normal operating mode without entering derate or fault conditions Module may be based on: STM32 / NXP / TI MCU CAN transceiver Firmware development included

Drawing on my extensive experience in electrical engineering and embedded systems, I know I'd be a stellar fit for your AdBlue System Simulator project. Specifically, my in-depth knowledge of Weichai ECUs and understanding of SCR/AdBlue subsystem interactions aligns perfectly with your needs for option 1. Throughout my career, I have honed a unique skill set that allows me to identify all the vital components necessary in developing the proposed lab-use simulator/emulator. Moreover, I can also deftly navigate and communicate through complex interfaces such as CAN messaging, diagnostic handshakes, and fault-avoidance logic - essential for your project's success. My prior experience includes developing and deploying a variety of hardware modules, including external emulators like what your project calls for in option 2. I am well acquainted with STM32/NXP/TI MCUs, CAN transceivers, and firmware development. I am confident that this transferable skillset would ensure I'd be a valuable asset to your team.

Hi there, I’ve worked on automotive ECU-related R&D tasks involving SCR/AdBlue behavior, CAN-based signal simulation, and bench testing where physical aftertreatment hardware isn’t present. That includes supporting lab environments where ECUs must stay out of derate while still “believing” all subsystems are healthy. From your description, the core requirement is clear: enabling a Weichai ECU used in off-highway equipment to operate normally on a bench by simulating the expected SCR/AdBlue signals, messages, and diagnostic responses, either through ECU-level insight or via an external emulator module. This can be approached by identifying the exact signals, CAN frames, and diagnostic conditions the ECU expects from the SCR system, then reproducing those behaviors consistently. That may mean defining the ECU-side expectations first, or implementing a small CAN-enabled hardware emulator (STM32/NXP-class MCU) that mimics NOx sensors, tank level, temperature, pump feedback, and dosing logic so the ECU never enters fault or derate states during lab use. The focus would be stability, repeatability, and clarity so the setup is usable for R&D, training, and diagnostics. If this aligns with what you’re aiming to build, I’d be glad to discuss which approach fits your setup best and what level of detail or hardware involvement you need. Happy to connect and talk through it.
