I have a working surface-EMG biofeedback prototype that is almost ready for a clinical trial. My background is in Occupational Therapy, so I need a technically-minded partner to finish the engineering details. The prototype already captures clean EMG signals, but three areas still need work before it enters the clinic: 1. Fixing the vibration sensor • Diagnose the current instability (occasional dropouts and inconsistent amplitude) • Re-calibrate and, if necessary, replace the sensor so it triggers haptic feedback within 50 ms of threshold detection • Deliver updated firmware and wiring diagram 2. Building EMG display software for Windows • Real-time data visualization (raw signal and RMS/average) • Session recording to CSV or similar format for later analysis • A user-friendly interface designed for clinicians with minimal technical training • Installer, full source code, and brief user manual 3. Other minor modifications • Tidy PCB layout and enclosure fit • Basic documentation so the device package is ready for ethics approval/IRB review Preferred tools are open to you (C#/WPF, Python + PyQt, or C++/Qt are all fine) as long as the final executable runs on Windows 10 without admin rights. Acceptance criteria • Vibration feedback latency < 50 ms and repeatable across 100 trials • Software streams at ≥ 1 kHz with no frame drops for at least 30 minutes • Recorded files open correctly in Excel or MATLAB/R • Clear, illustrated documentation covering hardware changes, build steps, and clinician workflow If this sounds like your expertise—especially if you’ve shipped medical or wearable prototypes before—please outline your approach, timeline, and any similar projects you have completed. I’m ready to start as soon as we agree on the plan.

My background includes embedded systems, Python, computer vision, real-time data processing, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi development, sensor integration, and hardware/software troubleshooting. I have not worked as a clinical-device manufacturer, so I would approach the clinical-trial preparation carefully and avoid making unsupported regulatory claims. My approach would be: • Diagnose the vibration sensor dropout and amplitude instability • Review wiring, power, sampling and firmware timing • Recalibrate or recommend a suitable replacement sensor • Optimize the feedback path toward the <50 ms latency requirement • Develop Windows software for ≥1 kHz real-time EMG streaming • Display raw EMG plus RMS/averaged signals • Record synchronized session data to CSV • Build a simple clinician-friendly interface using Python + PyQt • Provide a Windows 10 installer that does not require administrator privileges • Test long-duration streaming for dropped frames and data integrity • Document hardware changes, wiring, firmware, software setup and clinician workflow Deliverables will include updated firmware, wiring documentation, complete Windows source code, installer, CSV recording functionality, user manual, and engineering documentation. For the 50 ms requirement, I would instrument the complete signal-to-feedback path and measure latency across repeated trials rather than relying on theoretical timing.

Hi, I reviewed your project requirements and understand that the prototype is already producing clean EMG signals. The main focus now is to make the haptic response reliable and ensure the Windows software is stable enough for clinical use and repeatable testing. I can start by reviewing the existing sensor behavior, firmware, wiring, and data flow to identify the cause of the vibration dropouts. I’ll then optimize the sensor calibration, firmware, and wiring while keeping the required latency target in mind. For the Windows application, I can develop a real-time EMG signal/RMS display, session recording, and a clean clinician-focused interface. I’ll also verify stable 1 kHz data streaming, reliable session recording, and properly exported files. Additionally, I can help finalize the PCB and enclosure details and prepare the required technical documentation. Please share the current firmware, hardware/wiring details, and prototype software so I can review the existing architecture and determine the most effective approach before implementing the changes.

Hi, Your prototype is already at the right stage—I can help take it from a working prototype to a stable, clinic-ready engineering package. I’d approach this in three focused stages: first, diagnose the vibration sensor using signal/trigger logging, recalibration and hardware inspection, then optimize the firmware/haptic trigger path to consistently achieve <50 ms latency and validate it over 100+ cycles. Next, I’ll build a Windows 10 clinician-friendly EMG application with ≥1 kHz streaming, live raw + RMS visualization, reliable 30-minute session recording, and CSV export compatible with Excel/MATLAB/R. I can use Python/PyQt or C#/WPF depending on the existing hardware/software stack. Finally, I’ll clean up the PCB/enclosure integration and provide the firmware, source code, wiring diagrams, installer, user manual, and illustrated technical documentation needed for your clinical/IRB package. I’ll prioritize measurable acceptance criteria rather than simply making the prototype “work.” I can start immediately and provide an initial hardware/software assessment before final implementation. Happy to discuss the current sensor, MCU, communication interface, and existing firmware so I can confirm the exact timeline.

Good day, I have worked on digital signal processing and algorithms before and also experienced with GUI design in Python as well as LabVIEW. I have also worked with EEG and ECG signal processing. Regarding the vibration sensor, please clarify which part number you are using. Also provide how you are providing the excitation and haptic feedback. Regarding building the EMG software, it should be fairly straight forward. The primary software which will be used in python. You can communicate with your device via UART or USB and develop a protocol which allows you to configure your device and allow streaming of data from your device. The GUI acquired data from your device and then plots it in a tkInter based application. Regarding the format of the records, isnit okay if you have the data and a .CSV file first and then export it to matlab or do you explicitly required files in the *.data format? Please provide the details on the MCU/MPU used in the device too so that it will help with the development process. Feel free to contact me anytime on my mobile number and via e-mail.
