I am looking for an experienced engineer, or engineering company to design a system which inclued a motor in it.
The requirement from this system is to get an AC motor to connect
to sprocket and/or pulleys in order to get the system to get
a back-and-forth movement (like in the attached electric saw picture)
I have come up with a design which might work, and I need someone to
design the whole system and give all the parts requirements, size, dimentions, and motor type and requirements.
The explanation for this design is as follows:
The motor (A) has a small sprocket (B) attached to its shaft. This will drive another bigger sprocket which has a small cicular cylinder attached to it (C). This cylinder will be inserted into
a metal plate (D) which has an cut oval shape (where the cylinder is inseretd to). This will get (D) to move back and forth and we use
a metal stopper in (E).
You can see an above image of what (D) and (E) look like.
This system will get (D) to move back-and-forth a distance of 2 cm.
What I need from you is to tell me is this design is feasible and if is the chepest wat to accomplish this, or is there another design which will also work and accomplish this as well.
Note that the frequency of the movement is 1 second, but I would like the system to be able to include a controler which will be able to set the frequency to 0.5 sec, 1 sec, 1.5 sec, 2 sec, 2.5 sec.
If you believe this is the design to go with, I need the following:
1) sizes and dimentions of the sprockets
2) Motor to be used (specifications)
3) size and dimentions of (D) and (E)
4) Design of the casing which will hold all these togther. (note that this needs to be a closed 'black box' with only part of (D) sticking out, in order to connect it to an extenal device; like the attached electric saw.
The torque for this has to be as strong as it is for an electric saw.
