Hello, I'm Iranian, and Persian is my mother tongue so I'm not a native English speaker. My English is at C2 level (proficient user) across listening, reading, speaking, and spoken interaction, and C1 in writing, so I want to be upfront about that before anything else, since I know native-speaker pronunciation was a priority for you. I taught English to children at Iran Language Institute, including learners with little to no prior English exposure, focusing on spoken communication, vocabulary, and confidence rather than formal grammar instruction. I've gotten my BA in English Language and Literature (Yazd University). I also completed a dedicated ELT Teacher Education course covering questioning techniques, feedback, and humanistic/dynamic teaching methods specifically aimed at engaging younger learners. I'm currently getting my masters in English studies at Helsinki University. As for My approach with a 5-year-old beginner: short, high-energy 30-45 minute sessions built around games, picture cards, songs, and simple repeated conversations rather than a textbook. At this age the goal is making English feel fun and low-pressure - lots of positive reinforcement, visual and physical cues, and short activity blocks to match a young child's attention span. My accent is also Indian, which would help your son understand it more easily. I've already had exposure to high-quality teaching during my school days, and my mom is also an English teacher. I would use a gentle approach and won't be very strict; I'd choose to bring more curiosity to your child.
