Subject: Seeking FOCUS 6 ERP Expert – Average Cost Issue during Inventory Reposting "I am looking for a FOCUS 6 ERP expert to resolve an issue with Average Costing during inventory Reposting. The current costing formula works correctly under normal conditions. However, we are facing a critical issue when the quantity reaches zero in specific scenarios: Inventory Transfers: When transferring items between warehouses, if the quantity in the source warehouse is cleared (zeroed out) and the quantity in other warehouses is also zero, the average cost is lost. Upon receiving the items at the destination warehouse, the cost remains zero instead of being restored. Sales Returns: If a return occurs for an item that currently has zero quantity in stock, the system fails to recalculate or restore the average cost, leaving it at zero. I need a solution that ensures the cost history is maintained or correctly recalculated during the Reposting process, even when quantities hit zero." Example: transfer stock to other warehouse transfer qty=2,dc=50 dollar and qty become zero recieve other warehouse qty=2 ,dc=0, i want dc=50 usd not zero

Hi Abdulmalik A., I am a FOCUS 6 ERP specialist with strong experience in inventory costing and reposting fixes. I understand the issue: when quantity hits zero during transfers or returns the average cost is lost and later receipts keep cost at zero. I can review your costing routines, transaction history and reposting logic to ensure cost history is preserved or restored when quantities go from zero to positive. I will focus on preserving the last known unit cost, checking posting sequences, and fixing reposting logic so received items regain the correct cost. Please share sample transactions, affected journal entries or database tables so I can diagnose the root cause. You can also view my profile and portfolio for similar work. Best regards, Saad J.

I understand exactly the challenge you're facing—your FOCUS 6 system is losing average cost values when inventory quantities hit zero during inter-warehouse transfers and sales returns, because the standard reposting logic discards cost history at the zero-quantity threshold. My approach will involve modifying the costing stored procedures to preserve the last known average cost in a reference field before quantity reaches zero, then implementing logic to retrieve and apply this cost when items re-enter inventory through transfers or returns. I have extensive experience with ERP inventory costing modules and SQL-based financial data management. I can start immediately and would welcome the opportunity to resolve this for you.
