We need a Microsoft Word macro to automatically paste a phrase – a table heading – into a range of tables defined by a certain number. Our tables are listed under a certain main heading, say 6, and then sub-tables would be listed as follows, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, etc
For example, below the main heading is:
What percentage of the library's total book (and other library materials) sales come from the following types of events?
We need this phrase to be reproduced in all sub-tables starting with numeral 6 and the phrase should start just after the table number ends. So in the example below, table 6.1.1 currently reads:
Table 6.1.1 Regular book sales in the library during library hours
And it should read after the macro takes effect
Table 6.1.1 What percentage of the library's total book (and other library materials) sales come from the following types of events? Regular book sales in the library during library hours
This should be done for all tables starting with the number 6 and in this case it would mean 6.1.1, 6.1.2, 6.1.3, 6.1.4, etc, etc for many tables, sometimes as many as 25.
So basically the macro should enable us to input or highlight a phrase and then reproduce that phrase in certain tables defined by certain numbers in their headings.
