Job Description:
Hi, my name is Devin Sibley and I represent Sibley Transport. Our team is looking to design a program that simplifies & maximizes efficiency at our work place.
Our company's main income comes from hauling produced water from wellsites for oil & gas companies. The water ends up in a storage tank on location, and we are responsible for hauling the water before the tank gets full.
Our current program works well, but we need help to bring it to the next level. Currently, we have excel spreadsheets that automatically calculate an estimated volume within each tank in a week (Monday-Sunday.) When we're sent actual tank volumes from an employee of the oil company, we readjust our estimated values, and highlight those new values in the color Orange. When we decide it's time for a tank to be hauled, we highlight that tank Yellow, and dispatch a truck to go haul it. When the excel sheet reaches the end of the week, we have to manually create a new sheet.
My aspirations for improvement include (but are not limited to):
1. Having the spreadsheet automatically highlight a tank when our estimate reaches 75% capacity.
2. Designing a mobile app, so that the employees of the oil company can log in and adjust our estimated values when they have actual tank volumes.
Also having an interface for drivers as well, so they can change the value to zero when they've hauled the tank.
3. Having the spreadsheet automatically create a new sheet when the week has elapsed.
