For a project I need a method to calculate the tangent to a data curve.
The enclosed excel sheet shows you the nature of our data.
There is a time row, providing one data point every 2.5 sec.
The corresponding data points are shown in row "data".
The tangent shall be calculated between the data point, where the data exceeds 2 mm to the outer surface of the curve (see enclosed screen shot - the tangent is the red line).
What we need is the angle of this tangent vs. the x axis, assuming the data is printed as follows
- with the y axis representing 10 mm = 10 data points of the row "data".
- with the x axis representing 10 mm = 300 sec
What I want from you (deliverables):
a) an explanation how you would mathematically calculate this angle (the method how you would do this)
b) the calculation for my example in excel or in QT / C ++ (or another method, but please specify in your bid)
Please do not bid for the project if you do not understand the task and if you do not believe to be able to achieve this aim without much additional information from me.
We will only pay if you can fulfill both deliverables.
