This is a small quick hitter project that will help me complete my website.
Objective: I would like to add streaming video to my website. The goal is to convert my video file into a format that is both good quality and fast loading. The code should be written so that I can plug it into the existing code on my website.
Background information: I have a website that I maintain because I have intermediate web design skills. I have never worked with streaming video before so I am trying to learn how to add this type of media to my website. The vendor will not only create the code for me but provide consulting on the steps I should take to prepare and add streaming video on my site. So this project is a do the work and then explain it to me type of project. I have software tools that will allow me to do some of this work in the future I just don't have time to do trial and error to figure it all out. I use Flash MX, Frontpage 2003, PhotoShop and Photoimpact, Ultra 2 and Windows Movie Maker.
1) Create a shell as the video player. I have included an image called '[url removed, login to view]' that I would like the video to play within. I have attached an image called '[url removed, login to view]' to show the types of controls I would like on the video player shell (Play, Pause, Previsou, Next, Play and Volume)
2) Take my video file and put it in a format that loads quickly and plays with good quality in a streaming fashion within the Flatscreen TV image I have provided. (The video will be sent to you once the project is awarded because I will have to have you download it from my webserver.
3) I would like to have code that can be reused when I want to add more videos to my website. I want to be able to prepare the video file myself and then just plug in the file to the code and plug the finished code into the new project.
I understand we may have to create video at various quality levels for different types of internet connections. This should be addressed in this project.
