We are a organic cafe and grocery store inside a rustic Brunswick warehouse. We have an amazing location but our layout isn't working to help our sales. In March 2019 we renovated our store to build our new organic cafe and condense our grocery store. In the process of renovation we saw significant revenue and customer loses in the grocery store. For 6months we have been trying to put life back into the grocery store but we haven't been successful.
We would like to integrate the cafe and grocery store as to compliment each other. We would like to create simple visual merchandising to promote maximum spending within the grocery store. We have tried a couple of layouts but have realised that we really need a more open plan design and new shelving. We also would like an experts opinion on product grouping, signage and instore marketing to increase our grocery store sales. The attached image is of the design we did of the current store layout. We created a wall of shelves in the middle to separate the store from the cafe but with perspex sheets on the back of the shelves. This created the illusion of open but while still having clear separating. Please note we have a 8m ceiling height.
Due to money restrictions we repurposed all our old shelving to create our new design. This didn't work in our favour as the repurposed shelves that you see in the grocery store don't really fit the space. We would really like some professional advice with regard to helping us design our new layout. We have some solid ideas but would like a third part opinion on exactly where things should be layout including all signage and marketing.
