The thing that quietly ruins a GoHighLevel funnel is duplicates. Someone fills the form twice, or comes back through a second ad, and unless the sub account's duplicate settings and the workflow's first step both match on email and phone, you get two contacts in two pipeline stages and both of them get the nurture sequence. The report says leads doubled and the prospect gets nagged twice. The other one is attribution. UTM parameters don't reach the contact record on their own, so hidden fields on the form have to capture source, medium and campaign, or the source report stays empty and you can't tell which ad paid. I'd build those into the funnel pages before anything gets wired. Then the pipeline stage moves on a workflow trigger with the tag, so a lead is never sitting in a stage the automation doesn't know about. I build automations and API integrations for a living and run one in production myself. What's the traffic source, mostly paid or organic, and which external apps need connecting? That decides whether it's native integrations or a webhook step.
