GreenTech USA LLC Water Treatment Technician (HVAC & Potable Water Systems) Location: Nouakchott, Mauritania Employment Type: Contract / Field Service Reports To: GreenTech USA Project Manager ________________________________________ Position Summary GreenTech USA LLC is seeking a qualified Water Treatment Technician to perform preventive maintenance services for HVAC and Potable Water Treatment Systems at the U.S. Embassy Nouakchott. The technician is GreenTech's on-site technical representative and is responsible for performing all preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, water analysis, chemical adjustments, equipment servicing, documentation, and technical reporting required under the contract. This position is strictly a technical field role. The technician does not represent GreenTech in contractual matters and shall not communicate directly with Embassy personnel regarding scheduling, contract interpretation, pricing, approvals, or official recommendations unless specifically instructed by GreenTech USA. All project coordination, scheduling, approvals, technical recommendations, and official correspondence with the Embassy are managed exclusively by GreenTech USA Project Management. ________________________________________ Primary Responsibilities 1. Preventive Maintenance Services Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance visits in accordance with the Statement of Work, manufacturer recommendations, and GreenTech procedures. Responsibilities include: • Perform four preventive maintenance visits annually. • Inspect all HVAC and potable water treatment equipment. • Perform complete operational inspections of treatment systems. • Evaluate equipment condition. • Identify maintenance deficiencies. • Recommend corrective actions to GreenTech. • Verify overall system performance. • Ensure equipment operates within design parameters. ________________________________________ 2. HVAC Water Treatment Maintenance Perform all required HVAC water treatment activities, including: • Collect water samples. • Perform complete water analysis. • Measure: o pH o Conductivity o Total Dissolved Solids o Corrosion inhibitor concentration o Aerobic Plate Count (where applicable) o Chemical dosage levels • Test supply water quality. • Replace corrosion coupons every 90 days. • Package and coordinate shipment of corrosion coupons for laboratory analysis. • Inspect controllers, sensors, pumps, tubing, valves, and dosing equipment. • Verify controller programming. • Calibrate conductivity sensors. • Calibrate instrumentation. • Verify proper chemical dosing. • Adjust chemical feed systems when authorized by GreenTech. • Maintain glycol concentration. • Inspect filtration systems. • Replace filters when required. • Inspect chemical storage conditions. • Maintain accurate maintenance logs. ________________________________________ 3. Potable Water Treatment Maintenance Perform preventive maintenance for potable water treatment systems, including: • Inspect chemical dosing systems. • Replace pH and chlorine sensors. • Calibrate new sensors. • Inspect metering pumps. • Inspect tubing and fittings. • Check for leaks. • Inspect chemical tanks. • Test alarm systems. • Verify controller functionality. • Inspect booster pumps. • Perform motor inspections. • Perform operational testing. • Measure chlorine residual. • Measure hardness. • Measure alkalinity. • Measure conductivity. • Measure pH. • Measure temperature. • Inspect softeners. • Inspect backwash systems. • Inspect filters. • Verify operation of control valves. • Inspect electrical components. • Inspect submersible pumps (when required). • Inspect water wells (when applicable). • Coordinate certified laboratory testing for required annual water quality parameters. ________________________________________ 4. Water Quality Testing Perform all required field testing using approved equipment. Maintain accurate records for: • pH • Conductivity • Total Dissolved Solids • Total Hardness • Chlorine • Temperature • Corrosion Inhibitor • Turbidity • Iron • Manganese • Alkalinity • Silica • Other contract-required parameters. Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated before use. ________________________________________ 5. Chemical Handling The technician shall: • Handle chemicals safely. • Maintain inventory during site visits. • Verify expiration dates. • Prepare chemical solutions. • Refill dosing systems. • Adjust chemical feed rates only as authorized. • Follow SDS requirements. • Properly dispose of waste chemicals. • Store chemicals safely. ________________________________________ 6. Equipment Inspection Inspect all water treatment equipment including: • Pumps • Controllers • Sensors • Flow meters • Solenoid valves • Filtration units • Softeners • Chemical feeders • Storage tanks • Piping • Valves • Pressure gauges • Instrumentation Document any deficiencies. ________________________________________ 7. Documentation and Reporting Following every maintenance visit, the technician shall prepare a comprehensive technical service report for GreenTech USA. Reports shall include: • Maintenance activities performed • Test results • Water analysis • Equipment condition • Chemical usage • Calibration records • Photographs • Deficiencies identified • Corrective actions performed • Recommendations • Parts requiring replacement • Safety observations • Laboratory samples collected Reports shall be submitted to GreenTech within the required reporting timeframe. The technician shall not submit reports directly to the Embassy. ________________________________________ 8. Familiarization and Operator Support During scheduled maintenance visits, the technician shall assist GreenTech in providing technical familiarization to Embassy operators by demonstrating: • Proper testing procedures • Safe chemical handling • Equipment operation • Preventive maintenance practices • Control parameter monitoring All training shall follow GreenTech-approved materials. ________________________________________ 9. Safety Responsibilities The technician shall: • Follow OSHA-equivalent safe work practices. • Wear required PPE. • Follow lockout/tagout procedures. • Handle hazardous chemicals safely. • Follow manufacturer safety requirements. • Maintain clean work areas. • Report unsafe conditions immediately to GreenTech. • Comply with all Embassy security requirements. • Carry required identification and work permits. ________________________________________ 10. Logistics Responsibilities The technician is solely responsible for arranging and paying for all local logistics required to perform the work, including: • Local transportation. • Vehicle rental or taxi services. • Fuel. • Meals. • Accommodation. • Personal travel arrangements. • Personal tools and equipment. • Local communication expenses. GreenTech USA will coordinate maintenance schedules and provide work assignments but is not responsible for organizing or managing the technician's travel or lodging. ________________________________________ Communication Protocol (Critical Requirement) The technician shall not: • Communicate directly with Embassy personnel regarding: o Contract matters o Scheduling o Scope changes o Pricing o Technical approvals o Official recommendations o Additional work o Requests for materials o Invoices o Reports o Contract interpretation The technician shall immediately refer all such matters to GreenTech USA. The technician may communicate with Embassy maintenance staff only for operational purposes necessary to perform the assigned maintenance activities (e.g., equipment access, system shutdown/start-up, locating equipment, or safety coordination).
