Hi,
I have an existing tattoo that I really need covered up. I am hoping for feathers and monarch butterflies. It is currently above my left breast and was an eagle flying to the heavens with some verbiage. It is 28 years old and just looks tired and like a blur.
I would love to have it covered with realistic 'falling / twisting' 3D feathers, maybe 2 of them: one to cover up the eagle and the other one going upwards towards my shoulder, along with monarch butterflies, also 3D, so that they look like they are in flight and perhaps some of them landing; maybe 3 or so butterflies depending on the size.
I would love something bright and feminine. I'm hoping it's not that much larger than what is there now, understanding that the 2nd feather and butterflies will most likely be going up, towards the top of my shoulder.
I am guessing that for the eagle to be covered properly, the colors for the feathers may need to be purples and blues but perhaps the second feather, the one going upward could be oranges and reds? The monarch butterflies could be traditional orange and black but I am open to suggestions if you feel blues and purples would look good as well. I do want at least one of them to be orange and black.
This is to cover up this existing tattoo that I got when my first husband tragically passed away. It now reminds me of his death; no longer of his life.
For me, The feathers signify free-spiritedness, bravery, and strength. The butterflies signify femininity and beauty in their rarest forms. The butterfly's life is fleeting. Butterfly tattoos can symbolize a loved one that passed away. Butterflies go through a metamorphosis during their lifetime.
I am open to suggestions as I may be way off base. Attached is a picture of my current tattoo. It is 3 1/2" wide and 3" tall.
