I found your listing on [url removed, login to view] and you seem to have the required skills for a project I need to have done for a client of mine, that I don't have time for myself. Can you give me a quote for the following project:
I need a HTML5/CSS/JS version of the Flash/Flex based calculator (the red thing) on this page:
[url removed, login to view]
The page is in Icelandic so you probably won't understand much on it but in short, the calculator's purpose is to compare the operating cost of two car types.
In the first red box the user can see and change the price of petrol/diesel, the nbr of kms driven pr year and the nbr of years to calculate for.
In the next red box, the car type can be selected either by typing in the Icelandic Reg number of the car and hitting the Sækja button or you can select a car type using the popup menus, first popup being manufacturer, the next the make and the list below that is for selecting between various fuel types, engine sizes etc.
Below the car type selection box is a summary box with info/calculations. It shows the total fuel consumption in litres, total fuel cost, total co2 emissions, total car tax. Then there is an input field for the purchase price of the car and finally a calculated cost pr km given all of the above.
The red box after that just shows the difference between the two selected cars (left and right) in cost and co2 emissions.
The final box should be pretty self-explanatory, just a graph for the above info with years on the x-axis and cost on the y-axis.
There are some web services that provide the following info for the calculator:
- Fuel price service
- Reg nbr lookup service, returns all necessary info about the selected car
- Manufacturer/make/model info service, returns data with info about consumption, co2 emissions
The services are currently SOAP and an XML document but I could provide a REST interface that returned JSON data.
As for the look, you would get a graphic designer prepared PSD that you would then have to turn into HTML/CSS.
For testing the Reg number lookup you can use the numbers NP585 and UK676.
I would expect this to be delivered as a single HTML file with accompanying images, CSS and JS file(s). I would also like to know before-hand what JS libraries you would intend to use as I may have to maintain/change this later myself. My preference for a JS library is JQuery but if you would rather use smth else then let me know. The completed calculator will be embedded in a website in an IFRAME.
I don't expect an exact quote but smth pretty close as you should be able to get a good picture of how the calculator works by using the Flex based one.
Don't hesitate to send me questions if you have any. Looking forward to your response!
